Spinach Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
This had great taste, but an hour was not enough to cook the potatoes through. Mine were still chewy after an hour and 10 minutes! I also substituted regular bacon for the pancetta.

Brownie Frosting

So Yummy! I had a little trouble getting all the chocolate chips to melt, but is that really a problem?! Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

No Roll Pie Crust I

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
Flakey, yummy! So easy and with items I always have on hand. I did 2 fruit pies, then did a savory one and added some italian seasoning to the dough. They were all excellent. I will be using this crust from now on for all my pie crust needs!

Wicked Good Veggie Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
I had trouble with getting the tvp to brown, and then during the cooking time the chili developed a crust of burned stuff on the bottom of the pan. It made the whole batch taste a bit off, but was still edible. Maybe my medium to medium low heat was too much, but the flavor combined with the cinnammon was a bit strange.

Fresh Apricot Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
This was amazingly good! The tart/sweet combo was excellent. I used the No Roll Pie Crust 1 from this site and it was easy and tasty. I am making another 2 pies today for Father's Day!

Orange Juice Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Yummy! Simplified this by pan frying. Softened onions, browned chicken thighs. Then added orange juice, onion soup mix and 1/4 c. brown sugar. Brought to a boil and cooked covered. Sauce reduced to a lovely glaze without adding any thickener. Thanks for an easy family pleaser.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
This was excellent. I used the jelly kind of sauce as that was what I had on hand. I made the french dressing from the Zesty French Dressing recipe on this site. I served this over rice and added red bell peppers and onions to up the vegetable quotient. Yum!

Pineapple Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2009
This was so good! I took the advice of other reviewers and added vanilla to the batter and oj in place of the water (half and half). I also added a splash of lemon juice. I did 1 and 1/2 times the recipe and it fit fine in a 13x9 pan. Oh, and I used fresh pineapple instead of canned. Everyone loved it. I will definately make again and may try using different fruits as well.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
Yummy! Crushing the pretzels in the blender would be better than just crushing them with a rolling pin, as the pieces are a bit big otherwise.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
Very yummy! The lime was wonderful! I didn't have cayenne, so I added a bit of hot chili oil to the sauce. The sauce was a quite salty, so it paired great with my low seasoned risotto. Would also be wonderful with mashed potatoes. Used fresh garlic and onions, sautéed with the chicken. Will be making again!

Steve's Bodacious Barbecue Rib Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
This was very good. I added a couple of squeezes of lemon juice, and as I didn't have cayenne, I subbed in a packet of pizza pepper flakes. Will definitely make again. Very forgiving recipe.

Lazygirl's Ground Turkey Stroganoff

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
This was easy and very good. I thought it needed more seasoning so I added 2 beef bullion cubes instead of one chicken. Instead of sour cream I used nonfat yogurt and it was yummy and healthy.

Rosemary Roasted Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
We enjoyed this. I didn't have apple juice so I used apple sauce instead. It was very flavorful and the sauce was yummy.

Oatmeal Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
I used dried blueberries as I like to keep the fresh for eating plain! Because of this, I added a splash more milk. The muffins were very good, but crumbly. They needed butter as they were a bit dry, but I would definitely make them again. I will try with Craisins next!

Praline Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
This turned out great. I did reduce the sugar in the potatoes as recommended by other reviewers. The only other change I did was to use slivered almonds instead of pecans (it's what I had on hand), but it was still wonderful! I am not a fan normally of sweet potato anything, but I really liked this!

Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This was yummy. A nice combination of sweet and tangy. I didn't have the dill and it still worked. Only had an hour and a half of marinating and still got raves from the dinner guests. I will use red onions next time and perhaps add some peppercorns to the mix!

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
We enjoyed it, even the 3 year old. Ok, the 2 year old wouldn't touch it, but I don't think that was the chicken's fault! We had lots of sauce, and the tomatoes were an absolutely fabulous addition (we used garden fresh ones). As per other reviews, I added garlic. Didn't have tyme, but was fine anyway. Served it with new potatoes and green beans. As leftovers, I mixed in the green beans and loved it. The sauce is really good!

Easy Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
It was good, but very crumbly. It almost tasted like shortbread cookies! I did reduce the salt as I was making a sweet tart.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
This was great. It is a great base recipe to modify according to what you have on hand. Because I didn't have italian dressing, I used an onion soup mix and substituted cream and chicken bouillion for the cream of chicken soup. I also added some chopped frozen spinach with the cream cheese. My family loved it! We served it over rice and it was demolished.
