Italian Pasta Veggie Salad

Reviewed: May 19, 2013
I have been making a similar salad all my cooking years (55). I add a can of small black pitted olives, cut in half, a can of chick peas and sometimes sharp cheddar diced into small cubes. You can also add Feta cheese and sun dried tomatoes. It is unbelievably delicious and quite pretty to look at when put on the table for a bbq party. Not to mention.....healthy. (I use whole wheat rotelle pasta)

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Having owned an Italian restaurant/Pizzeria at one time, I can tell you: NO ITALIAN WOULD BE CAUGHT DEAD USING CHEDDAR CHEESE....AND NEVER, NEVER IN CALZONE. ONLY PURE RICOTTA CHEESE! Use one and one half cups of ricotta mixed with dash of pepper, salt, Italian sausage (or pepperoni is acceptable), one egg and dash of parsley and grated parmesan cheese. For those of you who don't want to be bothered making dough from scratch....buy the frozen bread dough. Just as good!

I bake almost the same dish, except I substitute one 12oz can of beer for the broth....Also a recipe given to me by a German friend.

Donna's Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2008
This is a fabulously moist, dark and rich bread (cake). I have a few loaves in the freezer for the holidays. It's a hit no matter where I take it for whatever occasion!

Spaghetti Torte

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
It was so-so. I didn't know if the egg whites were to be beaten or not....so I beat them and folded the other ingredients into that. I would use whole eggs, more parmesan and ricotta, instead of provolone if I made this again....and a regular sauce instead of chopped tomatoes. Just didn't have that pizzaz using the original recipe!
