Yummy! I made my own tomato juice-Blendtec recipe- and did what other reviewers suggested and added oregano and garlic. I didn't have heavy cream so I used evaported milk and it is amazing. Love it!

Spice Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
This is my "go to" recipe for donuts. I gave it 4 stars because it really needs a little more spice but other than that- fabulous. I do add, after trying this several time, applesauce instead of oil...Makes me feel a little better . they turn out great every time. You can even coat with cinnamon sugar. oh, and I use a pampered chef melon baller to scoop and drop into the oil- perfect donuts every time.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
These are the easiest, simplest and most fabulous plain biscuits. I used butter today and they are still great. These are my go to biscuits. I started them at 5.05pm and they will be out of the oven in 3 minutes. yummy! PS I just make them as drop biscuits using my medium sized melon baller and I get 12 good sized biscuits

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
i have made this twice and each time I have used cocoa. Using cocoa makes it a bit lumpy and so i have taken it out and added a bit more corn syrup and beat it with a mixture. This makes a nice satiny glaze that goes fabulously with the black magic cake found on this site.

Campbell's® Spicy Salsa Mac 'n' Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
ok so this recipe was hit with my husband, i never gage it by my kids because it is always dependent upon their mood. Anyway, I didn't have the campbell's soup so i used a basic white sauce and added cheddar cheese to it. I just boiled the noodles as normal (no chicken broth) I added the ground beef and salsa to the cheese sauce. Oh and i added taco seasoning to the meat. All my kids did eat it and my husband ate it for lunch over the next 2 days. I will be making this again. I only gave it four stars because I didn't follow the recipe exactly as written.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
This is the absolute best sauce ever. I actually made it and put it on flour tortillas- flat bread pizza. My husband was skeptical and afterward he said I had made a believer out of him. We will continue making this... i used agave (1/2 of what was called for) Amazing! We also used pizza seasoning in place of the separate herbs. Yummy!

Bean Quesadillas

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
I think this is a great recipe. It is missing a little something, so i added some taco seasoning. i did use canned tomatoes, drained. I also used monterey jack. Instead of making into quesadillas i put the mixture into the flour tortillas, topped with the mj cheese and rolled into enchilada/burrito style. put in a 9x13 pan and topped with both mj and ch cheese. baked at 350 for 30 minutes or until warm. Yum!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
This is fabulous! I made it with wheat flour. If only there was a way to make it healthier. I COULD EAT THE ENTIRE PAN! I made it with a more course cornmeal and it is still fantastic; just a little crunchy

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
This is our second time making this...we put it over ribs the first time and they were wonderful. We don't keep alcohol in the house so we used maple syrup and vanilla (3:1) it was amazing. It is important to let it simmer down for the amazing flavors. We liked the sauce so much we put it over a beef roast in the crockpot and make bbq beef sandwiches with it the second time. We will continue to make this over and over.

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
These were great for being wheat. I sifted the flours and baking powder. I actually did drop biscuits and they turned out nicely. I do have to admit they have a bit of baking powder taste but put some jam and butter on them and they taste great!

Chicken and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
I think this is a great base for a potatoe soup. i would make this again. As with any soup you have to make it to your liking but before adding any other spices i tasted this as is and i must say for a simple soup it is good and great for those picky children. after I added some rosemary and lemon spice. i also added some minced garlic and I had some shredded zucchini and celery. My chicken had been bbq'd previously so I just took the chicken off the bone and it made for a quick and easy meal. thanks for sharing

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
fabulous! I took it to a potluck and it was a hit! I am making it today to take on a camping trip. I added a bit of milk to the ranch to make it a bit runnier and easier to coat the pasta. I also added some finely chopped onions to add to the many different flavors. we will definitely make it again. Instead of using mayo and dry ranch I just added ranch dressing.

Smoky Mountain Chipotle Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
Fabulous! Made it exactly as is- except forgot the red onion at the end. It is a recipe I will made again. The sauce was amazing. I doubled it and then made a gravy out of it to put over top of our baked potatoes. Thanks for sharing.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I used a bone in Pork Roast and the only complaint I have was the fat. So the second time I made this I put the fat side down for a few hours and then turned it over and skimmed the fat off. It turned out 100% better the second time and made great pulled pork sandwiches. we will make this again and again.

Pasta Pomodoro

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I made this with ground beef and it was still amazing- I added corn to it last minute and the entire family loved it. I made it with wide egg noodles and it went over very well. We will make this again. I left out the red pepper flakes and added it to individual servings. Yummy!
