Tex Mex Stir Fry

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2014
Very easy to make, ingredients that I generally have on hand. The salsa I used had cilantro which gave it a little flavor boost. MY husband ate his in taco shells and I had mine rolled up in a tortilla. Makes quite a bit, a might even say 6 servings as written, not 4!

Super-Simple, Super-Spicy Mongolian Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
VERY GOOD!! My husband says it is a keeper!! The only thing I did differently was I cut the red pepper flakes back and only used 1 TEASPOON as we were having a side dish that had a lot of spice in it. Thanks for sharing your recipe!!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2012
I am done searching for a chocolate chip cookie recipe!! These are THE BEST!!!! I followed the recipe with the exception of cutting the flour to 2 1/2 cups and didn't add walnuts, as I do not like them. I use a good quality vanilla extract as well. This will be the only CCC recipe I use from now on! Thank you for sharing Dora!!!!

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
Wow!! Very tasty and easy!! I used taco seasoning I recipe from this site. I made recipe as is with the exception of taking the advice of others, I added a 12 oz. bag of sweet corn niblets and 15 oz can of black beans. I put them in when there was 1 1/2 hours until it was done as I was leaving for evening church. Mine turned out more like a soup as the salsa I used was from a bulk store in a large container and had more liquid in it. My husband who is a soup lover ate it that way. I saute'd red and green pepper slices and sweet yellow onion and then used a slotted spoon to drain the chicken mixture and had mine wrapped in a tortilla with cheese and sour cream, YUM!!! We are making nachos with the left overs today and I am sure there will be enough for my husband to have a couple bowls of soup! Makes a lot!! Thanks for sharing a great tasting and EASY recipe. I made a jar of the taco seasoning I by Bill Echols (I calculated for 64 servings) from this recipe and then just scoop out what a need for recipes calling for taco seasoning.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2011
Very Good!! My husband does not care for potato soup, however, he loved this!!! In fact, he had two bowls and we had no leftovers!!! I followed the recipe with the exception of taking others advice and using 4 Tablespoons of flour, reducing the Basil to 1/2 teaspoon, and adding 1/4 teaspoon thyme. It was fast and easy to make and most importantly delicious!!!! Thanks for sharing this great recipe Kristi!!! :)

Earthquake Pie Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
I made this today and it was soooo good!!! I used a clear bowl so I could see what was going on!! At first it was balling up but still a lot of flour rolling around. I looked at the recipe again and realized I did not put the water in!! After I put the water in, I proceed to shake the ball and it worked!!! I used this crust with Gramma Opels Apple Pie recipe from this site. My husband said "this is the best one yet"!!! I did use the butter flavored shortening as suggested by others and the crust turned out wonderful and so easy to make with no mess!! Thank you for sharing your recipe Esther!!!

Sue's Hot Fudge Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2010
YUMMY!!! I made this last night and had to leave my 5 stars!! I followed the recipe with the exception of increasing the cocoa powder to 1/2 cup as suggested by others and I also added about a teaspoon of expresso powder. I set the timer once it came to a boil and boiled it exactly 7 minutes, stirring constantly. I removed it from the burner after 7 mins and poured into the blender and set the time for 4 mins and turned on the blender. ( I accidently added the vanilla with the other ingredients to the pan, instead of after I removed it from the heat, however it came out fine). After blending 4 mins I poured it over Ice cream which was sitting on a freshly baked brownie!! My husband loved it!! The sauce came out smooth and velvety!! I think blending is crucial!!! Don't skip that step!!!

Roasted Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
I made this today with the Beer Brat recipe on this site by Zach and wow, what a great Memorial day dinner!! I will never prepare potato salad the conventional way again! This was sooooo easy! Roasting the potatoes was much better than boiling them, I always cooked them too long and they got mushy! This is a no fail recipe! And it tasted soooo good!! Thank you so much for sharing your recipe! Yum! Yum!

Beer Brats

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
Wow! These were very good!! I followed the recipe exactly, using 3 - 15ounce cans of Guiness. I don't even like brats and my husband isn't fond of them either, however, he did request them for Memorial Day. So I thought I would give these a try and we both thought they were very good! This will be the only way we prepare brats from now on!! Thanks for sharing your recipe Zach!!

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
This was excellent!! I followed the recipe exactly. My husband who is particular, and generally has a suggestion to make something a little better, said this is a keeper!! I used Chef Paul Prudhomme's Magic Pepper Sauce, it was actually cheaper than the other pepper sauces. Instead of putting the shrimp on skewers I just grilled them in a grill basket, in the words of my husband, a definite KEEPER!!!

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
Wow!! This was sooooo good Cindy!! I joined just so I could leave a review for this awesome recipe!! If you are organized it doesn't take to long to put together, regardless every minute of preparation is well worth it! I took for our family Easter today, 18 people, and everyone raved about it! They thought it was better that the pies that were purchased from some famous restaurants! Like someone suggested before, be sure to put parchment paper in your pan to prevent sticking! Again, 5 stars and this will definetly go into my favorites!!
