Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2015
Read all reviews and changed the recipe up a bit. Cooked the chicken in a TBs of butter with added garlic and onion powder then added to rice 1 can of cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soup with 1/2 cup of extra water with 1 bouillon cube added and 1/2 can of nacho cheese spread. This came out wonderful. Thank you for a basic recipe to follow!

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: May 4, 2015
I read the reviews before making this and made it with half white and half brown sugar, used real butter, added a tsp of cinnamon and vanilla, increased to 6 cups of blueberries and added oats to the Topping crumble. It came out very good. I only rated 4 stars because of the changes made. Family really liked the extra blueberries! Definitely worth making again!

Sherry Braised Beef Short Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2015
I've tried many short rib recipes and all have been great but this one tops the list. I didn't have sherry wine but substituted it with marsala wine and it was fantastic. You've got to try this if your looking for a great short rib recipe! I love Chef John's recipes!

Divinity

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2013
Divinity is very tricky. I tried one reviewers suggestion to get the temp up to 300. That did not work for me. Too hot and almost caramelized. The 255-260 temp is perfect. Again this is tricky and the humidity can alter the results. Great flavor.

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2013
This is really a very good recipe! One note that has been mentioned that you really need to heed..get those steaks thin..that way you can be sure your meat is done when your coating is nice and golden brown. Really good!

Almond Cream-Puff Ring

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2013
I love making cream puffs, so I did that but used the almond cream for a filler! LOVED it! A lot of cooks are intimidated by the fact that these are almost too good to be so easy. Try it! It's not hard but I will say it's very important to add one egg at a time to the dough and be sure each egg is incorporated well before adding the next! Enjoy!

Gooey Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
My optometrist first clued me in on a gooey cookie. I found this recipe and decided to try it. The process is a bit messy and sticky (I did not refridgerate my dough), and to offset the sweetness my doctor warned me of, added 1 cup of chopped cranberries. The final product was definitely gooey and the tartness of the cranberries was perfect. I like my cookies a bit heavier but my husband LOVED these. I think I would like to try a differnt cake mix as some reviewers have noted. I used yellow butter, the french vanilla sounds interesting.

Skillet Apple Brownie

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
This was so easy to make and it has that old fashioned down home comfort food feeling. My husband said this was one of the best deserts he has had. I did add a bit of allspice to the recipe but not enough to detract from the original. Yummy! Enjoy!
