Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
I replaced the 3/4cup milk and 2 tbsp white vinegar instead with 1/2 cup plain yogurt and 1/4 cup plain unsweetened soymilk, and the 2 tbsp white sugar instead with 3 tbsp brown sugar. I also added 1 tsp vanilla extract like someone else recommended. These ended up being the most delicious pancakes and my sister and I ate them up really quickly. Today will be my 3rd time over 4 days making them. I would definitely recommend to other people!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly as directed (but used unsalted butter), and my pancakes ended up salty and bitter. I ended up not being able to eat them. So I came back, and read reviews to figure out what went wrong.... and guess what? I used baking SODA instead of baking POWDER. Wow. I feel stupid. So I'll make these tomorrow again, with baking powder this time, and we'll see how they turn out. Also, I'll reduce the salt to 1/2 tsp.

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
These pretzels were amazing. I made the recipe exactly and they came out perfect. The recipe was incredibly easy to follow. The first batch I put on melted butter after baking, and the second batch I put on the melted butter before baking. Make sure you put the butter on AFTER baking because they are SOOO good that way (and better)! My sister didn't know that they were made from scratch because she thought they were so good. I sprinkled coarse kosher salt on most of the pretzels, put some cinnamon sugar on a couple, and a bit of garlic powder and coarse salt on a couple. These were overall just awesome! Chewy, soft, and PLAIN DELISH! I recommend this recipe to anyone and everyone! Oh and p.s. they are the best when they are FRESHLY BAKED so eat up!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
Delicious apple pie recipe. I only made a few modifications based off of other reviewers. First of all, I mixed the sugar/butter into the apples rather than pouring it on top. Then I used an egg white to brush the top of the pie to make it a nice golden brown. Also, I reduced the sugar to 1/3 cup of each white and brown rather than the 1/2 cup each. I used the pate brisee recipe from marthastewart.com and it turned out flaky, golden brown, and delicious. I would definitely recommend this recipe to make. I also added a bit of nutmeg, as well as some cinnamon to the apples. Overall this recipe was very easy and I made it all by myself, even though I am only 14. I used apples from my friend's apple tree (anna apples) and left the skin on for color.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
Definently one of my favorite cookie recipes. It made the whole house smell wonderful when I was baking them. My whole family loved these oatmeal raisin cookies. The cookies were gone very quickly and I wished I had made lots more. Don't change anything about the recipe, and I definently recommend them.

Mom's Warm Milk

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
I used 2% milk and it was delicious. I reduced the sugar to 2 tsp rather than 2 tbsp, and microwaved it for a shorter time. The nutmeg added a nice touch. The vanilla made it taste extra special!!! I really like this milk and it was super simple.

Soothing Warm Milk

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
I was first wondering why the heck a milk recipe was up on this website so I decided to try it out. I was a bit skeptical at first, but when I tried it I was amazed. This milk is sooooo good! I will make it again, but maybe with a bit less sugar. Oh yeah, I used superfine sugar (to make sure it dissolves) instead of Splenda because I don't really use Splenda ever. It was very soothing and aromatic. I am drinking it as I speak and feel a bit more sleepy.

Waffles II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
I normally make a recipe of my friend's grandpa, but it uses buttermilk (which I didn't have) so I decided to try this one. This recipe was quite easy to follow. The result were some waffles that weren't awesome but were relatively good. A quick and easy recipe that makes some good waffles. I will definently make these again when I don't have buttermilk for the other ones.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
I saw the tips from other people to add more flour and peanut butter. I made half the recipe and added 1/8 cup peanut butter, but accidentally added too much flour (1/2 cup instead of 1/4 cup). So when I formed the cookies they were too crumbly... Don't make that mistake! Cookies turned out really yuummy but a little crispy. Next time I think I will just try to follow the recipe (and add a bit of vanilla extract still). The only other problem I had was that I made half the recipe, expecting to have 12 cookies. I came out with 36 cookies! The proportions are incorrect. Otherwise these cookies had a wonderfully nutty and completely peanut buttery flavor.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: May 26, 2007
This caramel popcorn is phenomenal!!! I use popcorn kernels in my old popcorn machine. Don't cut the butter in half. I have read what many other people said, to cut the butter amount in half and don't think it is a good idea. It is fine the way it is. I make this recipe really often for going to movies (and sneak it in of course) or whenever I'm bored and my friends are over. Everyone in my family loves to eat this. Whenever I make it, it is gone within 24 hours. Thanks Brian!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
These muffins were the best ever! I decided to try something for Easter as a surprise for my mom. She absolutely loved the them. I never could figure out how to make the crunchy part on top of muffins, but now I DO know. Thanks Colleen! These are awesome! By the way, be sure to use fresh blueberries for best results and twice the amount of crumb topping. Cheers.
