Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
Absolutely fantastic. A hint for substituting all purpose flour for baking flour: make sure to add extra gluten so it will stand up to the oven. Here's how: Make a simpel dough from 1 cup of whole wheat flour and a little water. Rinse the dough under a trickling stream of water for about two minutes, until you have only gluten (Wash out all of the starch). This should leave you about two tablespoons of gluten, which I added to the dough before kneading. It came out absolutely perfect, even without baking flour!

Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
It smelled so good I had to sample some right out of the slow cooker. Amazing flavor, absolutely tender meat. I used my own cajun blend: black pepper, cayenne, thyme, sweet basil, garlic powder, onion powder, bay leaves, chili powder all blended together with a good amount of salt. I also threw in a couple tablespoons of Worcestershire.

Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
As per the other comments, I heated the milk and water together before adding the yeast, and I was surprised and how well and quickly the buns rose in twenty minutes. After they came out of the oven, I threw them on the grill with the burgers and the result was great. Anyone who didn't like this recipe should have heated the wet ingredients or used fresher yeast!

Snickerdoodles I

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
Turned out great. I know everyone says Cream of Tartar is the secret ingredient in good snickerdoodles, but I found that corn starch works just as well.

Old Fashioned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
Really good! I left the potato skins on, for my personal preference and I didn't have celery. .. so I just did without. Still very good result and quite a hit. Oh yeah, I also sprinkled in some paprika. Thanks!

Amy's Barbecue Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
Yum!I put crumbled tortilla chips on top because that's what I had on hand. I also marinated the chicken in BBQ sauce for two hours before cooking and was very happy with the results. Will definitely make this again, thanks!

Cashew Chicken with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2008
SO delicious. I also added garlic to chicken during the initial cooking, and used zucchini instead of green pepper because that's all I had on hand. It still turned out great!

Betsy's Mandarin Orange Salad

Wonderful flavor, we really enjoyed this recipe. My sister-in-law was so impressed that I "candied" my own almonds, and it wasn't even hard to do.

Crepes with Spinach, Bacon and Mushroom Filling

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2008
Really loved how this turned out-- except next time I'll cut down, substitute, or leave the bacon out all together. A little too greasy for my taste, but it has a lot of room for personalization. Great, Thanks!

Wow. Yum. My husband doesn't like mango, so we left it out, but it was still delicious.

Wasn't thrilled with the way this turned out. Pretty bland and sauce too thin. Needs a lot of salt.

Thai Chicken Pizza with Carrots and Cilantro

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
I'm a huge fan of Thai Chicken Pizza - this is an especially good recipe. However, I like to make my own peanut sauce out of a mixture of creamy peanut butter (hydrogenated), soy sauce, Asian chili oil, and honey. The Chili oil gives it a little extra kick that you won't find in store-bought Thai peanut sauce.

Adobo Sirloin

Reviewed: May 21, 2007
Great flavor -- WAY to spicy. I love hot food, but I went overboard on the chipotle and adobo and seriously regretted it. Otherwise, great recipe.
