Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2013
Use Oreos with 3 T butter for crust, added extra 1/4 cup chocolate chips. Used milk chocolate Ghirardelli chips. Drizzled caramel and chocolate on top. Toasted the pecans. Also added 1T flour to batter. OMG delicious! Looked professional! Didn't crack at all! Never happened to me before wen making cheesecake! Did not use a water bath either. Loved this! Thanks!

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Not that this needs another review...but I need to say, I do not like salad, nor do I like spinach. I ate two HUGE plates of this!!!!!!! This is quite possibly the best thing I have ever put into my mouth! Ha! I added blue cheese and feta cheese crumbles, and fresh crunchy bacon on top of ours with some walnuts as well as some sliced red onion. This is out of this world!

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
This recipe is wonderful, HOWEVER, I think a key ingredient is missing. My mother made the most amazing mac and cheese on earth! I've tried dozens of other people's homemade recipes over the years and every single one is bland in comparison. You MUST use 2 Tablespoons of MINCED onion (vidalia or another sweet onion is BEST to use for this, regular yellow or white makes it too strong) and cook the onion in the butter until soft then add the flour. I also only use 1 Tablespoon of flour. It thickens wonderfully in oven. You also need to use 1/2 teaspoon of salt (add to onions and butter with the pepper), even though the cheese is salty, it will make it perfect! I also use 8 oz velveeta and 8 oz shredded classic melts cheese by kraft. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
DO NOT listen to other reviewers! If you only add a 1/2 C sugar this will be terrible!!!!! I am a hot cocoa addict and a chocoholic and I couldn't get past 3 sips! Bitter. I did not scorch it either. You MUST use the full amount of sugar called for, but even then, its not great.

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
OMG! The VERY best thing I have ever eaten!!! I cook ALOT and my husband will eat anything, but I have never seen him love something as much as this! I've made it 5 times in the last 2 weeks. I halved the mushrooms, and instead of olive oil I used white truffle oil. The trick is to add a half cup of broth (boiling) at a time. Also, it need a full hour of stirring and adding broth to get to the right consistency. Otherwise, it is too al dente and chewy. It also may help to cover the rice with the broth occasionally and let sit for 5 min under low heat. AMAZING recipe! Thanks so much! Now I'm off to share it with my vegetarian friend in Tennessee today!

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
OMG delicious!!! I did make a homemade spaghetti sauce to go with this. I used the world's best lasagna sauce, minus the meat, from this site. It was so flavorful. My family LOVED this dish! It was quite a bit of effort and be prepared for quite a mess and plenty of dishes to wash! =) This recipe is out of this world!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
Yet another 5 star review for this! I typically use a baked potato soup recipe from this site that is FABULOUS! I decided to try something different and am SO glad I did! This soup is SOOOOOO easy to make! It takes minimal effort and time. I have a chopper so chopping the veggies is easy for me. I made exactly as recipe states and it turned out perfect! I made a delicious cornbread recipe to go with this. This was an amazing dinner! THanks!

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
I did not care for this recipe! There is WAY WAY WAY too much ginger! You MUST cut in in half or maybe more for this to even be edible. I LOVE noodles, and couldn't believe that I could not eat this. I made it exactly as written. Sorry to give a bad review!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
I should give this 5 stars, EXCEPT I followed someone else's advice and used fresh jalapeno's. I didn't think about it like I should have, and just diced it up and added it in. The peppers were so crunchy! It was gross! My husband LOVED this appetizer! I would have loved it had I followed the recipe and used a can of peppers instead or cooked the fresh ones first. So, it was my mistake. I still do not think it would be worthy of 5 stars, but it was yummy.

Caramelized Onions on the Grill

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
WOW! These were fantastic!! I started these on the grill, but the gas ran out so finished them in the oven. They were so flavorful! Made exactly as directed. Smelled like french onion soup when I opened the foil. My family devoured these alongside their steaks. Thanks for this GREAT recipe! I will cook these everytime we make steak!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
Like this recipe needs another review! Let me say, I ONLY eat sweets that have chocolate in them, but this....OMG! It is UNBELIEVABLE! I used the suggestions from the top reviewer and used half applesauce, pineapple(which you really don't taste but it makes the cake sooo moist!) added extra vanilla, etc. You must use her alterations, because this cake is absolutely fantastic! I made this for my hubby for his bday. My mother in law took one bite, looked up at me, and said, OMG, I've been cooking for 40 years and now you are going to teach ME how to cook! What a compliment! PLEASE try this cake everyone. It really is to DIE for! Thank you so much for making me look like the worlds best baker! =)

Washabinaros Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
I didn't change anything about this recipe, which is almost a first for me. I personally did not care for this. My husband made no comments while eating it. He usually raves about everything I cook. I thought it smelled really "odd" while it was cooking and in my bowl. It had a strange flavor too. I loved everything I put into it, so I'm very surprised I didn't really like the chili. Sorry, but this isn't the recipe for me.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
Wow, I really thought these were going to be good, but as one reviewer said, they came out way too gooey. I had to bake them for 15 min to get them to hold up, and they still were too gooey. They had a nice flavor, but something was missing. Thanks for the recipe anyway.

Cherry Limeade I

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
The way to make this PERFECT is to add cherry grenadine to the drink instead of the marachino cherry juice. Add to each individual glass if you like. Just a drop goes a long way. Makes this sweet and perfect!!!

Chocolate Mousse Cake IV

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
TO SUM UP ALL THE REVIEWS: YOU MUST do these changes and you will have PERFECT results! Add 1/4 tsp cream of tartar to heavy cream before whipping. CHILL the bowl and mixers you will use to whip the heavy whipping cream for atleast one hour in the freezer. After baking the cake and letting sit for 10 minutes to cool immediately wrap cake tightly in plastic wrap(a very successful wedding cake baker gave me this tip) It will make the cake SUPER moist! After wrapping the cake put in fridge until completely cool or if you have time let cake sit out until completely cool. You must follow the recipe and cool everything for its specified times or mousse will end up runny. Fold in mousse like stated! VERY important! Do NOT stir! Fold and fold until completely incorporated. ALSO, change the amount of water you add to chocolate mixture to 1/3 cup. I used two dark 9in pans for the cake. I cooked my cake for 30 minutes at 325deg. The mousse is so unbelievably decadent and delicious! My cake turned out PERFECT! VERY best cake recipe out there! I did use a yellow cake mix b/c I feared chocolate may be a bit over the top(and im a chocoholic!) im glad I did, the mousse is SO rich! Hope this helps!

Ive had many a cocktail meatball in my 27 yrs....but these are PERFECT! I had guests that HOVERED over these for 30 minutes until they were all gone! I even DOUBLED the batch! My hubby and friends hubby ate almost all of them all by themselves! These have the best flavor and beat out the grape jelly sauce by a LONGSHOT! TERRIFIC! Thank you so much for this recipe!

Good idea, tasted very good. DO NOT do the MILK idea as suggested by someone else!!!! My entire dessert was sitting in soupy milk! It made it kind of disgusting. Next time I will follow to a T.
