Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
YUMMY BISCOTTI! As with others, I did not use the full amount of fruits or nuts, but it still tasted great! I made several batches and plan to continue using this recipe in the future as it's really very simple and fast to make! Base recipe is great... easy to substitute the nuts and fruits as you like - I made some with currants that tasted pretty good! I also played around with the proportions and types of extracts used. Best tip I read was to wet your hands when working with the dough, shaping it, etc. No problems at all with the dough being too liquidy as other reviews had indicated. The cookie didn't brown up too much, but still looks and tastes wonderful! Happy Baking!

Awesome Korean Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
I was hoping this would be amazing but was actually a bit disappointed. It sounded great, and smelled really good, but the flavours didn't really penetrate the meat as well as I hoped despite marinating this overnight. I'll probably try it again, but it's not quite the same as you would find in K-town.

Asparagus and Mushroom Puff Pastry Pie

Reviewed: May 23, 2007
Nice recipe. I actually hate mushrooms so I have no idea if this tasted good, but I made it for a bake sale and everyone loved it. Just some small changes. I used less butter and less garlic, no hollandaise, and just sauteed the veggies in the garlic butter, before dropping it in the puff pastry. I intended to add feta as well, but forgot! Anyway, everyone enjoyed it and it was perfect for a bake sale, especially in an office where savory always sells easier than sweet!

Baked Potato Salad I

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
I was inspired by the name of this dish to make a "Baked Potato" salad, rather than a casserole type "baked" potato salad. I used 1/3 mayonnaise with 2/3 sour cream, bacon cut into one inch pieces and crisped, diced red onion, green onion, salt, and grated marble cheese to make a cold potato salad. Tasted just like a loaded baked potato. What a hit it was at my BBQ - especially with the boys! I am sure to make this again and again!!!
