I read previous reviews and followed what some of the others did. For example, did 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg and ground cinnamon, and tossed my diced apples in 1/4 cup maple syrup, and I "lightly" drizzled each plate with the 100% pure maple syrup before serving. One thing I would do differently next time is double the topping as I felt I had more apples than crumbles! Nonetheless, this is a winner. Thank you :)
I am also a big fan of fewag rasberries and peaches and could not get over how easy this was to make and how delicious the crumble was, so I doubled everything except the butter. I also added fresh rasberries and used canned "light" peaches. The outcome was a nice suprise! I got extra crumble with my fruit :)
