Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2007
Soooo delicious! I am not even a big fan of pumpkin. I was worried I didn't bake them long enough because at the end of 20 minutes in the oven, they were very mushy on the top still, but after they cooled they were totally fine, very cake like! So good.

Southwest Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2007
This was great and very tasty! I used fresh salsa though, instead of the diced tomatos, therefore I left out the advice to add garlic. I had to let it hang out on the stove a little longer than I thought (husband was not home on time) lid ON, but it was still great. I added some Trade Joe's frozen brown rice near the end and it was perfect. I served it with some sour cream on the side. Very tasty! My 1-year-old loved it!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
I couldn't find "golden mushroom soup", so I used roasted garlic mushroom soup instead and I thought the sauce was very good. I doubled the recipe, using 2 lbs. beef, 3 cans of soup, 1 1/4 cup of water, 1 onion, 1 onion soup packet, 1 beef boullion. My husband, son (age 3), AND daughter (age 1), devoured it!

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
I made this with the setting on low for 6 hours and the chicken was more than ready. It was almost a little dry and chewy. The bones and meat were all jumbled together because it was so tender. I think the scent & aroma from the sauce was better than how it really tasted. Not horrible, but nothing i'd make again.

Quick Gnocchi

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
I was stuck with a big box of potato flakes from a visiting relative and had no idea what to do with them...and then I found this recipe! Now I actually do buy potato flakes on purpose just to make gnocchi. As good as all of the authentic italian restaurants I have gone to in south Philly. It was SO easy to make and So tender, NOT CHEWY/HArD! This IS a time consuming recipe to make, but do keep in mind that using whole potatoes just takes even longer. This recipe just cuts the time in half!

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
I love this recipe! I love that it is dense and you can spread your butter on it easily without it falling apart in your hands. I baked for about 30 minute, could have gone 5 more minutes, but in my standards, the cornbread was perfect because I like when doughy things aren't fully baked (like brownies).

Waikiki Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
Extremely crumbly. Very sweet and soft cornbread, probably best for using over a stew or chili, as others had already said. My guests would go to put butter on and the cornbread would just collapse in their fingers.

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
I couldn't fit all the ribs in the oven (I think I did the recipe times 5, seriously), so I ended up bioling the rest. Not sure which ones were boiled or which ones were baked, but they all pretty much had the same chewy texture. I think next time I will bake them at a lower temp. for a longer time (like all other recipes call for) to see if I get a more tender result. Other than that, the SAUCE WAS AMAZING!

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
Very yummy. I made it along with some ribs, sweet potato fries, and cornbread. It was very tasty. The only additions to the recipe I made were 1 bag of coleslaw from the supermarket and 1 red pepper. There wasn't that much liquid at the bottom. I made it 2 days ahead (I mixed it a couple times to allow the liquid to touch all the cabbage), it turned out perfect.

This recipe was pretty good, but I think it smelled better than it taste. We ate plenty for our dinner, but we didn't really care for the leftovers.

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
So good! My son loved it. I served it with Jasmine Rice and broccoli. It tasted like Chinese takeout, tastes close to General Tso sauce! I did take the advice to not cook for the full recommended time, so it turned out perfect!
