Banana Walnut Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
I typically hate banana anything, but tried this because i didn't want to toss my bananas and thought my kids might eat it. well i actually love it too! I read the reviews and made these changes, I skipped the third and final banana, used regular bread flour because that's what i had, added an egg, was a little generous on the liquid measurements and used a little imitation almond instead of walnuts due to a nut allergy. I also substituted 3 tablespoons of maple syrup for the honey. My kids and i ate the whole thing in a day. Delicious and good for you!

Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
I loved it. But I love Egg drop soup. Simple and yummy! My husband not as big of a fan, but he did say, as far as egg drop soup goes, he thought it was pretty good. I will definitely make this again! If only for myself!

Vanilla Crepes

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
Really really good! I did one whole egg and 2 egg yolks. I spooned the flour in to keep it fluffier and I mixed it all together in a blender. Turned out great. My whole family raved. It made a lot of crepes, but we ate them all! We will definitely make these again.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
Very good! I really loved these! I rated it 5 stars, because although I thought they were fantastic....I like brussel sprouts,...and my kids still wouldn't eat them. My husband did eat a few however and said he would eat them again if I made them. Better than he expected. Usually if I serve brussel sprouts I serve w/ a cheese sauce for everyone else. But, I thought they were amazing, I ate most of them myself and i will definitely make them again. I bet they would be amazing w/ a burnt butter/balsalmic vinegar sauce! Thanks for the recipe!

Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2007
Great Pie! Very easy recipe. I followed another persons note and did 3 cups each of the strawberries and rhubarb. next time I will do a little less sugar. I am used to a sweet and tart pie, this one was mostly just sweet and not very tart. So next time I will reduce the sugar a little. Thanks for a great recipe!

Really Good! I took the suggestions of others and used vegitable broth, added more beans (and I mixed it up, northern beans, white kidney and garbanzo beans), potatoes, spinach and extra garlic. Very good!

Great rice pudding recipe. I used leftover rice, skipped the raisons and added cin. I also used a little cream in place of some of the milk. Great recipe! Extremely yummy way to make use of left over rice. Thanks!

Granola Bars III

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2005
Good. Chewy, but not too chewy, sweet, but not too sweet. The raisens were good, but we love them w/ chocolate chips! Next time I might try half a pan w/ dried cranberries. My son loves these, and I feel WAY better about feeding him these than anything store bought and processed!

Great, easy recipe. I have modified it some, I use a little extra cream cheese and diced chilli peppers in place of the pimentos. I have served this to many guests and always get rave reviews. A great midweek supper.

Corn Fritters

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2002
My husband grew up eating corn fritters with syrup for breakfast. So I made these and he really liked them. I did half, just as the recipe said, and half with cheese. I really liked the cheese, but I think it is better without if you want to eat them with syrup. The recipe was very easy. These aren't great as left overs, so only make what you need. Also, make sure to leave them in the oil long enough. I had a few that were not quite cooked in the middle. I will definitely be using this recipe again! Thanks Joan!

Maple Glazed Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2002
Awesome Awesome recipe! We made this for ourselves and loved it! Since then we have served this to guests, and have always received rave reviews. It wasn't difficult at all. It is a little time consuming, but we have shortened the marinating time and still had excellent results. I don't have kids, so I have no idea if kids even like ribs or not. But as for adults...if you love BBQ, you have to try this recipe!
