White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
These were absolutely delicious. They taste decadent and bakery quality. They make a nice big batch of cookies. I added these to my Christmas cookie plate this year. The recipe is a keeper and one I'll pass on to friends and family.

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
This is the same recipe that my mom used to make homemade brownies when I was a kid. I think it is just as easy as the boxed brownies but without all the preservatives. I have made these with 2 and 3 eggs and I do prefer using only the 2 eggs for a chewier brownie.

Ranch Burgers

We really enjoyed these. I used very lean ground beef and they came out moist and delicious. Next time I will reduce or eliminate the onion.

Greek Style Garlic Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
I followed several other reviewers suggestions and halved the oil. It came out moist and delicious. I will be using this recipe again and again. It would be delicious sliced on top of a salad.

Creamy Italian Dressing I

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
We thought this was good. I made it twice, once with Hellman's Mayo and once with a store brand mayo. There was a huge difference in taste. I'd recommend Hellman's. This also makes a good amount of dressing so you may want to alter the recipe if you won't be eating it within a few days.

Three Cheese Garlic Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
These were incredible. It is definitely only a special occasion side dish because of all the fat and calories but well worth it. I used the the slicer on the food processor to slice the potatoes very thin and ended up using 2 pints of the heavy cream to cover the potatoes. I didn't have any provolone so I omitted that. The topping was so crunchy and delicious, I'll be skipping the provolone next time I make it too.

Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Delight

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
I thought these were good. Quick and easy! I think next time I'll try adding vanilla frosting, then the cinnamon sugar as another reviewer suggested. I'd also like to try these fried.

Runzas (Bierocks)

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
These were delicious. My husband must have said at least 5 times during dinner how good they were. I made these with the 1 lb frozen bread dough (3 of them). I cut each 1 lb dough into 3 sections and I thought it was a nice dough to filling ratio. I did add plenty of salt and pepper. Next time I will try adding garlic. I baked these only about 20-25 minutes and they came out perfect. Thanks for a great recipe! This one is a keeper!

Garlic Dill New Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
Absolutely delicious. I served this with steak and it was excellent. The fresh dill gave it a nice fresh flavor. I wouldn't change anything about this recipe. I'll be serving this all summer!

The Old Boy's Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2009
We really enjoyed this. I'd describe it as a strawberry crumble pie. I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and was very happy with the results. First, I substituted brown sugar for the white sugar for the topping. 2. I discarded all excess sugar, flour, and cornstarch after coating strawberries. 3. I used a pinch of cinnamon instead of nutmeg. We enjoyed it warm with a dallop of whipped cream for the first slice but I definately preferred it chilled the next day. Thanks for a great recipe we'll make again and again!

This is delicious! I have made it 3 times for company and each time they ask me for the recipe. It is time consuming but well worth the effort.

Maple Dill Carrots

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
I really enjoyed these. They have just the right amount of sweetness. I followed some suggestions by other reviewers and cooked the sauce for a few minutes until the sauce got thick. I'll be making these again.

Meatloaf Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
I was looking for something easy for a week night--these were perfect. My whole family enjoyed them. I could definately taste the vegetable soup in the meatloaf and it was a bit odd to taste potatoes and green beans in your meatloaf but kinda cool too. I have not tasted another meatloaf like it. I'll be making it again.

Fennel Pistachio Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This cookie has a very unique flavor. I don't cook much with fennel so it was nice change. It definately stands out on the cookie platter. I made these along with some other cookies and gave them to my neighbors for Christmas. At first, I wasn't sure how I liked them but they grow on you.

Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
I was pleasantly surprised by this recipe. I tried it based on the reviews however, I was very concerned when I began rolling out the dough on my baking stone. It looked so dense and I worried it would taste like cardboard. It rose nicely in the oven and looked great coming out of the oven. The great thing is my kids loved it!! I love that it is a good tasting healthy alternative to white crust. I will be making this again.

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
Like some other reviewers, I am trying to get my family to eat healthier and I have added more fish to my monthly menu rotation. This was delicious. It makes a beautiful presentation and was very flavorful. I removed the skin from the fillets as recommended by another reviewer and followed the recipe exactly. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars was because it was too oily for our taste. This recipe is a keeper but next time I make it, I'm reducing the olive oil.

Cabbage Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
We enjoyed this recipe. My husband even took the leftovers to work the next day (which is a very, very good sign he enjoyed it!) I followed the recipe exactly except I cooked on the stove. The only changes I would make for next time would be to add more cabbage. There wasn't quite enough cabbage in a serving for our taste.
