Bubble Pizza

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
Very good. I made it with all our favorite pizza toppings. Then, the next day, I used all the leftover toppings (3 cheeses, sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers), added cream and eggs, and it made the best quiche!

USMC SOS

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
Wasn't overly impressed. Basic recipe was kinda bland. Added worchestershire sauce didn't help that much. Wasn't bad, but not what I was looking for. Sorry.

Mary's Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Made this at Christmas and it was so hectic I didn't get around to reviewing it until now! Terrific cheesecake recipe! My first "real" cheesecake and it came out delicious! I followed directions and it still cracked though. Some people said to try the "pan of water on the oven shelf just under the cheesecake" technique. Doesn't work. Next time I will try the actual "water bath" technique. Wasn't sure then how to do that- everyone assumes you know. For those who don't: Make your cheesecake in a springform pan. Wrap the outside of it in foil(to keep the water out). Get a larger cake pan or shallow casserole dish (don't grease it). Put your wrapped springform pan into it. Carefully pour very warm water into the space between the two pans (a little over halfway). The idea is to have the middle and the outside of the cheesecake the same temp. If the outside is hotter, it will bake faster and shrink. This causes the cracks. I'll let you know if this works in practice as well as it's supposed to!

Ground Beef Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Very good! This is one of those things that taste even better the second day when the flavors have had a chance to marry. Made it as stated, topped w/some grated parmesan, et voila! !

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
Good. Not as good as the fried version, but then fat makes everything better. (lol!)Made it as Chicken Parmesan with Marinara sauce over linguini. Since I discovered Panko, that's the only kind of bread crumbs I use. Because many people said this could be bland, I added one 0.7oz. package of Italian dressing and recipe mix (Good Seasons) to the bread crumb mixture. Not bland! Served with sliced garden tomatoes with fresh basil and fresh mozzerella. Yum!

Sausage Mushroom Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
Very good recipe!I like the idea that it makes 2: One for Saturday dinner, and one for Sunday lunch!I used the deep dish pie shells, so I doubled everything but the lemon juice, and added onion. Tasted great! Next time I'll add some garlic and maybe a little green pepper.

Mom's Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
Best cheesecake I ever ate! I made it for Easter with a few changes: I used 2 cups graham cracker crumbs instead of 1 1/2, and one stick (1/2 cup) of butter (from another recipe) instead of 1/4 c. margarine. Makes the crust a bit more sturdy. I also used Splenda and Splenda Blend instead of all the sugar. This way my diabetic husband could have a (small)piece. It still tasted fantastic! Of course it still had about a jillion calories, but hey, it was a holiday dessert!
