My husband and I recently went to Carrabba's for dinner one night and we both had a dish with pasta amatriciana in it. My husband really liked it, so he asked me to make it one night for dinner. I found this recipe and decided to try it. I didn't have stewed tomatoes, so I used diced tomatoes and replaced the bacon with bacon bits since I didn't have any bacon and simmered it for a while since I had to wait for my husband to get home from work. I tasted the sauce before tossing it with the pasta and tasted the "kick" from the crushed red pepper, but when the sauce was added, I no longer tasted that kick. I felt the pasta just sucked up the sauce, so I'm thinking of cutting down the amount of pasta to 12 ounces next time to see if that helps. I noticed the picture shown in the recipe has the sauce on top of the pasta, but it's suppose to be mixed in with it. That's one thing my husband liked about the dish at Carrabba's. Since my husband gave this a two thumbs up, I will be making this again, just reducing the amount of pasta or possibly using a thinner pasta.

Perfect BBQ Baked Beans
Having lived in Georgia for over four years now, I haven't been able to find a baked beans recipe I was happy with. My family loves the dark colored baked beans at BBQ restaurants down here, but I have been unable to find a similar recipe.. until today. I had a 28 ounce can of Bush's Boston flavored beans, so I adjusted the seasoning since the beans already had some flavoring in it. I didn't have any mesquite seasoning, so we just went without it and I didn't have any dried mustard, so I just put a squirt of regular yellow mustard. These beans are yummy! The BBQ sauce (I used Sweet Baby Ray's) made the beans a darker color and gave it a really good flavor. Thanks for sharing this recipe Aleasa. I printed it and will definitely be making them again. :)

Blackberry Cobbler II
I had some blackberries I bought and wanted to make a blackberry cobbler, but my cookbook didn't have the recipe. I searched and found your website and got the recipe for the cobbler. I didn't have enough blackberries for the recipe, so I adjusted the ingredients myself and added 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon to the dough mixture at my husband's request. It turned out great. *** Added note on 4/29/07- I am making the cobbler again today and when I went to change the servings from 8 to 6, I noticed the directions stayed the same. The water and sugar amounts should have changed, but it was for 8 servings. Please check to make sure your directions have changed when you change the number of servings before you prepare this, or it could end up a disaster.
