Tangy Potato, Green Bean and Bacon Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
Delicious, 10 star plus recipe that I will be sure to make over and over! We are not a big fan of mayo-based potato salads, so I was excited to try this one. I absolutely love the tang from the mustard and the vinegar. I used dijon mustard, because I was out of our usual whole grain mustard, but I could only imagine that it is even better with the whole grain mustard (on my list for groceries already!). The crunch from the bacon just puts it over the top. I paired it with barbecue chicken and it went perfectly, light and refreshing. Thank you Don for sharing your recipes...it will be a definite keeper in our house!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2012
I usually don't step out of my "comfort" zone when it comes to chocolate chip cookies...I made the same ones since they are delicious...with that being said boy am I ever glad I decided to give these a try. They are absolutely the best (and tied with my typical recipe)!!! They are soft and chewy with a crispy edge....perfect. I did skip the water and upped the vanilla to 1 tablesppon, but otherwise followed it to a tee. I will definitely be making these again!

Sweet and Sour Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
Absolutely delicious! I think this recipe definitely needs some well deserved attention. I ended up keeping them in the crock pot on low for 8 hours, because I didn't read ahead and planned on making it while I was at work. There was the perfect blend of sweet from the brown sugar and sour from the vinegar. I was a bit worried about the lima beans, but they ended up turning out as a creamy delicious bean. I paired it with coleslaw and hot dogs and the guys loved it. These will definitely be made again in our house! Thanks for sharing!

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
This has to be the best sweet and sour chicken, ever....better than restaurant quality. It was very time consuming, especially having to pan fry the chicken in batches as not to crowd or burn it. But, the end result was absolutely worth every minute. The chicken was crispy and light, without that greasy fry taste. The sauce is sweet and simple. Served with broccoli and fried rice, it was the perfect Chinese dinner.

Pizza Shells

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
Delicious take on pizza and stuffed shells! I only used one can of tomatoes thinking it would have been too much, but next time I will use both. I did had some crushed red pepper and garlic powder to the sauce just as a personal preference. I used mozzarella only because I forgot the Monterey jack but I think a mixture would be even better. My little guy went crazy for them. Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Baked Potato Skins

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
Unbelievably delicious! This is a 10 star recipe and definite restaurant quality. In fact, they're better than any restaurant potato skins we've had. They easy and fast (just microwave potatoes) and you can tailor them to your liking...more cheese..less cheese...bacon, no bacon. The seasoning is what makes them so delicious, so definitely do not skip or alter that step. Another keeper!

Boneless Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
Delicious! I've made these many times, but haven't gotten around to review them. We love them! They are my go-to recipe for boneless wings. The breading is absolutely delicious and I often use it to make regular chicken fingers for the guys, who don't like spicy. THank you for this keeper recipe!

Bubble Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
I made this with my little guy yesterday for lunch and we loved it. We didn't use the ground beef and I added a few veggies to the adult side of the pizza. I loved the amount of "dough" because I love thick crust pizza, but if you don't I would probably decrease the amount of biscuits used. This was fast and easy and will definitely be made again!

Pat's Baked Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
Absolutely delicious and addicting! I was a tad skeptical about the relish and almost left it out, but I am so glad I didn't because IT made this potato salad. There was just the right amount of creaminess from the mayo and sweetness from the relish. I sprinkled extra bacon and cheese on top and the family couldn't stop saying how good it was. This will be a definite keeper in my house

BBQ Chicken Crescents

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
Five stars from the family, so that is a definite keeper in my house, especially when I need a fast and easy meal. I used a rotisserie chicken to make it easier and used homemade BBQ sauce. I did add in some caramelized onions to add another layer of flavor. Overall a solid easy meal on nights that I have little time to cook.

Jan's Buckeye Stuffed Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
Oh my, where has this recipe been all my life! These cupcakes are so delicious...the fluffy, light and moist cake, to the delicious buckeye filling and the fudgy and perfect glaze. There is not one thing I would change about these. If you're a peanut butter and chocolate lover (or even if you aren't), I highly suggest trying this immediately...you won't regret it! 10 star plus cupcakes!

Garden Stuffed Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Five star, all the way! What a great way to have a twice baked potato, without all the guilt of a loaded potato. I used fresh broccoli and light ranch dressing and skipped the oil on the potato skins. These turned out wonderful....creamy, tangy with the perfect crisp from the potato skins. I even got my two guys to eat their veggeis this way. Thanks for sharing this recipe that is a definite keeper in my house.

Ty's Barbequed Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Who would think that something so simple would turn out so amazing! This chicken turned out delicious. I made as is using four chicken breasts and adding a pinch of red pepper flakes. I would not change a thing about this marinade, except maybe boil the marinade and use as a dipping sauce. It is the perfect blend of sweet, tangy and salty. This will definitely be a keeper in my house!

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Delicious! I was a bit skeptical because I've never had them before, but they turned out awesome. They were crispy with a nice crunch from the corn meal and perfectly sweet. If I knew how good they were I would have made them all summer with our tons of tomatoes!

Fast, easy and absolutely delicious. The mayo makes the chicken moist and the lime goes perfectly with the taco seasoning. This a great weeknight meal when you need dinner in a hurry.

Cinnamon Spice Drop Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
These were mentioned on the Buzz the other day and I had a bag of cinnamon chips sitting in my cabinet forever, so I thought I'd give them a try. Holy delicious cookies....if I could give them more than 5 stars I would. They had the perfect hint of cinnamon and spice and the chips just put them over the top. I didn't add the pecans, because the guys here don't like them, but next time I will add them to a batch, because I know the crunch would make them even better. These cookies give me the perfect excuse to stock up on cinnamon chips!

Monterey Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
The family gave this one 5 stars! They loved it, as did I. I would have never thought to combine these flavors, but they worked wonderfully. I loved the sweet and salty effect of the teriyaki marinade and the fresh vegetables. I ended up grilling the chicken instead of baking it, but that is the only change I made. This will definitely be a keeper in my house!

Asian Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
Wow...what a delicious marinade for chicken. I used chicken breasts, just because that's what we prefer, and marinated it only for two hours because I ran out of time and the flavors still came through beautifully. I loved the sweet chili sauce and the spicy chili sauce all rolled into one. I made this with Thai Pineapple Fried Rice (one of our lovely Buzz lady's personal recipe) and it made a perfect meal. This will be a definite repeat meal in my house!

Thai Pineapple Fried Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
OMG this was absolutely divine! I skipped the meat and the added veggies, because I was making it with grilled chicken and a side of broccoli. The flavors were spot on. I loved the addition of the shallots, which I would have never thought to add to fried rice. This is a definite repeat in my house. Thank you Baking Nana for sharing your beautiful recipe!

BBQ Glazed Homemade Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
The guys gave this 5 stars. My husband really liked the BBQ glaze and said he would even enjoy it over meatloaf. My little guy asked for a second one and ate everything. He said they were "delicious." So, I have to conclude that this a great recipe deserving of 5 stars and will be made again in my house!
