Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
This is great. Baking has now become my cooking method of choice for asparagus. Sometimes we don't even bother with the butter sauce, just eat it as is, straight off the baking sheet.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
Unbelievable! Made this exactly as written and it was terrific. Just finished eating it last night and even after 4 days in the fridge the meat is wonderfully moist and flavorful. Next time I'm going to try it with poultry seasoning or fresh herbs instead of the soup to try and cut down on the sodium. YUMMY!

This is the first time in my life I've made PERFECT hard boiled eggs. Ken, I think I love you!

Sweet and Sour Sauce I

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
My husband won't touch the fluorescent red sweet & sour sauces that are so commonly found. I followed this recipe exactly and we both loved it. Next time I might add a couple of shakes of red pepper flakes to turn it into a spicier version. Thanks for this great sauce!

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
Two of my favorite foods, bacon and spinach. I used leftover spaghetti sauce instead of the diced tomatoes and this was great.

Honey-Ginger Shrimp and Vegetables

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
This was okay but definitely not something that I would serve frequently. I cut red pepper flakes to 1/2 tsp. and the heat level was just about right.

Slow Cooker Latin Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
Made exactly as directed. I love all of the individual components but in this recipe the result is just plain boring. Sorry.

Mini Salmon Loaf

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
Made with canned tuna instead of salmon, followed the rest of the loaf recipe to a T. Excellent. Not a big fan of dill sauce so I didn't make that portion of the recipe.

Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes with Ricotta Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
Wonderful flavor. Made it in a casserole instead of twice baking the skins. The only change I made was to use garlic and finely minced onion instead of the shallots.

Southwest Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
This is excellent! I cut my chicken into 1 inch pieces and we use this as stuffing for burritos or tacos. One of hubby's favorites!

Authentic German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
Pretty good. I cut the sugar down to 1 1/2 Tbsp and it was still too sweet for my taste. Also, in my opinion, the salad was MUCH better the following day after having lots of time to absorb the sauce.

Slow-Cooker Posole

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
This was magnificent! I found out at the last minute my chiles had gone bad so I used green salsa instead, worked perfectly. Only 2 slight changes I will make next time: chop onions instead of slicing, and serve all of the cilantro raw as garnish instead of adding it to the soup. Can't wait to make a big pot for my friends!

Barbequed Steelhead Trout

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
Very Good. Instead of aluminum I cooked the fish on one of those mesh screens made specifically for the bbq. Now I can't wait to try bbq sauce on other types of fish.

I used Splenda instead of sugar and this turned out just like mom used to make. Perfect!

Fresh Herbed Halibut

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
OMG! This is my favorite Halibut recipe ever. Didn't measure anything, just sprinkled it on in the order given. Used Halibut steaks and baked for 20 min at 400 degrees. Couldn't have been easier!

Mandarin Chicken Saute

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
Great and simple recipe. As suggested by someone else I added aprox 1 tsp of cornstarch dissolved in water at the end of the cook time to make a thicker sauce. Other than that, followed the recipe to a T. Can't wait to make it again!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
Our new favorite recipe. Because of sodium restrictions I use salt-free seasoning instead of salt. Sometimes we mash them into refrieds and other times we just leave the beans whole. Turns out perfect every time. Thanks for a great recipe!
