Meat-Lover's Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

This is a great recipe; very similar to something I have been using for years. Thanks also to the author for adding the bit about chunks of sausage, versus ground - I wondered where the chunky bit was supposed to come in! You needn't worry about this amount of sugar in a crock pot full of healthy ingredients. There will be no noticeable"sweetness", it is more like a "smoothness" that would be missing without it. It's all about balance! Thanks for a terrific recipe!!

Wonderful Meatloaf

Oh my word! We are a family of meatloaf lovers. I followed this recipe, and cooked as directed. The texture was awful.My son said "wow, I didn't know you could wreck a meatloaf". Apparently so.

Best Burger Ever

These were pretty good, although yes, reminiscent of meatloaf. The hot sauce adds a nice kick, though. Here's a trick for those whose kids "don't like" oatmeal (like mine). Run the dry oatmeal through the blender to make an oat "flour". Same concept, fewer pieces, same binding action. And no oatmeal complaints.

That's-a Meatloaf

This is very much like my rolled italian meatloaf, so we knew we would like it. (I don't know that I use the same spices in the same proportions - it's meatloaf, so I just usually toss it together.) This recipe is infinitely improved by using italian wine salami, or capicolla (or any spicier italian meat) sliced paper thin at the deli. More than six slices, but about 1/4 lb. is plenty - just layer it on. Provolone works great in it too...mama mia!! The rolling part can be tricky - lay your meat our on foil sprayed with Pam (or such). Use foil to help you roll it - works great, and no sticking!

Slow Cooked Pork Barbeque

Tried this tonight, and loved it! I used a pork butt roast, and cooked it overnight. The house smelled amazing!! this morning. Chilled in the fridge until my son got home from school, and then could easily skim off all the fat. Re-heated until hot, served over rice with a side of veggies. Awesome! Nothing left but a little rice....

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

We were looking for a new recipe for the big game this weekend, but when we saw this, and read the reviews, we couldn't WAIT to try it, so made it last night. TO DIE FOR! I have friends who are weird and don't like bleu cheese, so I'll make two this weekend, (one with ranch)but for my money, nothing goes better with hot wings than a bleu cheese dip. Excellent recipe! One note to reviewer Nick - we laughed so much when we read your changes. It's not that your suggestions would make a bad pizza (in fact, we're going to try it out) but it doesn't remotely resemble the original recipe!!

Beef Noodle Shepherd's Pie

I enjoyed this recipe, as did my 13 yr old son. I did tweak it a little, and added corn and cheese like several others. But I mostly wrote to say that both the previous comments are incorrect. In England, Shepherd's pie is traditionally made with lamb... hence "Shepherd". When the same recipe is made with beef, it is traditioanlly called Cottage Pie. Whatever you call it, it tasted great!

Old-Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies

Not like our "usual" oatmeal cookies - these are soft and cake like, rising quite a bit while baking. My son liked them better when I added chocolate chips. I substituted dried cranberries for half the raisins (still simmered them). Next time I would also cut back on the cloves a bit - but the cinnamon is a great addition.
