About this Cook
When I was younger I hated to cook because I wasn't confident about it and never really learned how. So I made a lot of boxed dinners. Then I started dating a farm boy and put a lot of pressure on myself to cook good hearty meals for him so I turned to allrecipes.com to find good recipes. I eventually married the farm boy and now cook yummy home-cooked meals for my family every night of the week. And my whole family now raves about my cooking. My mom is even trying to talk me into opening a restaurant w/ her!
My favorite things to cook
I love hearty soups in the winter and different types of salads in the summer. But I also like baking bread and making desserts.

There's too many to mention. I started out not even liking to fry bacon! I've come a long ways but still have a lot to learn.
My cooking tragedies
I like to keep the tragedies to myself. There's been a few times that I've cooked/baked something, then thrown it away before my husband knew it existed.

Fajita Marinade I
This was so good! I omitted the water and added a splash of cider vinegar and a bit of cilantro, and I only added a dash of cayenne. I later realized the recipe called for four cloves of garlic - I thought it was only one. It still turned out great. I marinated sirloin steak for about 8 hrs. I then broiled the steak. I sautéed bell peppers and onions. I boiled the used marinade and added a couple splashes of it to the peppers and onions. Then I sliced the steak and threw it all together with some fresh cilantro. Thanks for the recipe. It was so much better than using the packaged powder seasoning!

Broccoli Cheese Soup
This was good but I'll definitely add more cheese next time. My 19 month old son even loved it and he's not a big fan of broccoli.

Classic Goulash
I made this exactly as written except I cut it in half. It was good but the Italian herb seasoning was too strong. Next time I'll use less.
