WOW. I would give and extra star for freeing up the oven on Thanksgiving day! I will never try to rush and cook 4 side dishes while the Turkey is resting again. After reading this recipe, I wondered how many other things can I cook in the crock pot and was pleased to see mashed potatoes and green bean casserole among them. This recipe is almost identical to my mom's, except I have never put eggs in my stuffing and we never actually measured when cooking stuffing. The stuffing came out perfect. Everyone was worried that it wouldn't get that toasted crust that they love, but the stuffing on the bottom of the crock pot was actually toasted. I don't know if it was the egg, but the stuffing had a great fluffy texture. I did not have any problem with the amount of liquid, but I make my own bread cubes and do not know if that is the difference or not. It must have been destiny to find this recipe because the Turkey took an extra hour and I was glad that all the sides were done. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
