Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2012
Super easy and super yummy. I didn't have enough butter, so I used 1/2 butter and 1/2 butter Crisco and they taste the same. I also only had crunchy peanut butter and that works too....

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
This was good. I'm not sure it was better than my traditional pie. I'm gonna make one of each and see what people think. However, this pie did help me win a baking contest. The only thing i did was make a double batch of the sugar mixture.

Best Spinach Dip Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
This was gone in no time, simple and amazing. I did change a few things just to have to more tailored to my taste. I did not use water chestnut mostly because I"m not a fan. Also, I did not use the bread bowl, again because I'm not a fan of dips with bread. Instead I used thin organic corn chips. They must be thin....it was perfect. As suggested I used the whole box of spinach. Also because I love cheese I added parmesan and sharp cheddar. Everyone loved it and can't wait for me to make it again. Remember, these changes were done for my taste, do what u like.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
You must chill this overnight, I know it doesn't say to but it's the best. Everyone raved about this one! I made this for a girls happy hour party I had. They all loved it. I did make changes I used an 1/8 cup of olive oil and an 1/8 cup of the oil from the sun-dried tomatoes. I also added parmesan cheese to the mix, because it should be there. Then chilled it over night to congeal all the flavors, and presto instant hit!

Chicken Cordon Bleu Bites

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
This was just ok. They were very dry, so I was glad that I made sauce to dip them. I am going to make these again with these modifications....I'm going to cut smaller cheese cubes and instead of dicing the the ham i'm going to leave it sliced. i'm going to the ham around the the cheese. I'm going to add some white wine in with the egg, chicken and bread crumbs to try to combat the dryness. Hopefully with these changes it will go from 2 stars to 4 or 5. I will keep you updated.

Roasted Garlic Lemon Broccoli

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
I loved this recipe! I did tweek it a little. I started by blanching the broccoli for one min. Instead of mincing the garlic I thinly sliced it. Tossed everything together, and placed it on a broiling pan. After baking, i sprinkled parm cheese over and squeezed half a fresh lemon over it. Now i'm not a huge veggie fan but i did go back for seconds. Yum! For a lighter flavor use fresh lemon instead of the lemon juice, it made a huge difference. The taste was more subtle.

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
OMG! I can't get enough!!!!! There are a few things I do different. Garlic......I can't live without it. So, I put some in. I also reduce the amount of mushrooms. I think there are too many. I cut them in half. Then I doubled of wine and cut down on the water. These changes were just curbed to my palate. Very solid dish!

Eggs Benedict

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
YUM! My boyfriend claimed it is so hard to make this dish. He challenged my mom and I by saying we couldn't reproduce his fav brunch item. Well, he was shocked at how well we did. He actually licked the sauce off his plate. Ha, we showed him! This was great and well worth the effort.

Chocolate Caramel Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
These cookies are one of my favs! Just the perfect amount of chocolate. A few things I did..........I did not mix in the pecans. I just put them on top. I'm not a huge nut fan so just having them on top is the perfect amount. I also baked them in the large silicon cupcake pans. When they are done cooling they just pop right out no muss no fuss! All and all love it!
