About this Cook
I cook a lot but I have found that my cooking knowledge isn't very exstensive. I know a lot of authentic mexican dishes becuase of my heritage but I noticed that I don't know many other dishes. Since I've found this wonderful site I've been trying to broden my horizons. I'm very happy with almost all the recipes I've found.
My favorite things to cook
I love simple baking. Yummy cakes, brownies and cookies. I like trying out new recipes and tasting the finish result. You never know how it's going to turn out. And of cours I enjoy making old favorites like enchiladas and carne con chile. Those types of dishes bring out old memories.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom, my sister and me would spend a whole day getting ready for barbeques and family get togethers. It was so much fun working together and laughing and cooking. Christmas is especially fun. The three of us will take a day off from work and spend the day making tamales.
My cooking triumphs
One of the first recipes I got off this site was for Beef Stew. I was so worried it was going to go wrong but it turned out wonderful. All of my family loved it. It was a nice change from all the old recipes we were used to.
My cooking tragedies
I recently made a fajita marinade and it was disgusting. It was way to sour and I was very disappointed.

Cajun Chicken Pasta
Just finished with dinner and one word, amazing! I doubled the recipe and seasoned the chicken to taste but everything else stayed the same. My husband loved it and request I mix in some shrimp too. Definitely a keeper.

Unbelievable Chicken
Love this chicken! I will be making this again. I made the recipe as written and it was delicious. Next time I make the marinade I'm going to add some chopped jalapeno and cayenne pepper for some spice.

Turkey Pot Pie
This was my first time making a pot pie and it was a hit. It was so easy and the results were fantastic. I did bake the bottom crust first for 6 minutes and had good results. I had too much filing and save the rest so my boyfriend can eat as a soup. I can't wait to try this with chicken.
