Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
This is a fantastic recipe! My daughter loves pancakes, so I make them for dinner when my husband has to work late or pull a graveyard shift. I usually try to keep a box of pancake mix on hand for such occasions but one one night I didn't have any mix and hadn't made it to the store by evening time. So I tried this out and I was surprised at how easy it was, not to mention tasty! I followed the recipe exact the first time and they were wonderful. I've made these a few times since, and though now i add strawberries or some other extras to it, the recipe as is is great. I even made these one saturday morning and my husband, who isn't really a pancake fan, just loved them! I haven't bought a mix since! Thanks for the fabulous recipe!

Glazed Cinnamon Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
I made these one saturday morning for my daughter when she wanted cinnamon rolls. Not wanting to spend forever making my usual yeast cinnamon rolls I decided to finally try this recipe. I am glad I did! Super easy and quick. I did add about 3 T. of sugar in with the flour and I also baked them at about 375 instead. They turned out great. Very tasty. Not like a cinnamon roll, but I didn't expect it to be. I will surely make these again. Thanks!

Tasty White Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
I was looking for a simple white bread recipe that I could use to introduce my 7 year old to baking yeast breads with. (Baking a batch or loaf or pan of anything is one of our favorite things to do together!) This recipe was perfect! It filled my entire house with such a yummy aroma we were almost watching the the oven till we could pull it out and gobble up a slice. Super easy and my daughter was so proud of her very first loaf of bread! There is one problem we had though. We have to make more since the first batch was gone right away! Thank you for the recipe and the wonderful learning experience for my daughter!!

These were super easy and tasted pretty good to boot! I make these often to have with our evening meal and everyone always loves them. An easy recipe to personalize too. We enjoy them with monterey jack cheese and crushed red pepper. Thanks!

Apple Loaf

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
I was craving apples one day (pregnant lady!) and bought a whole bunch of apples! Well, after about a week, I was tired of apples and had a couple left over I wanted to put to good use instead of waiting till they went bad and tossing them in the bin. After reading some of the reviews, I, too, made a couple additions. I added a little bit of milk, a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg and my apples after shredded were about 2 cups intead of 1. Also, after mixing everything together I realized my mother in law still had my loaf pans so I made muffins instead. We loved them! Not dry at all and they were a huge hit that morning at breakfast! My daughter, who is 7, loves to help in the kitchen and they were so easy and a great activity for us to do together! I will surely make this recipe again. It is a geat way to use up a couple apples and I also want to try using different types of apples too!(I used 1 fuji and 1 red delicious)Thank you for the great recipe!

Grandma Strojny's Mud Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
My daughter loved these. Especially the "muddy" bit. She really wanted to bake something but I had a limited amount of items on hand and since they didn't have eggs or milk it worked out great. Also, I found a way to use up the jar of salad dressing I never use. Not the best cookie, but I will definately make them again because they are "kid friendly". We are always baking up a batch or loaf of something, and these are great for a quick cookie fix. Thanks for sharing!
