Denny's Amazing Five Minute Asiago Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2006
Yum...I love this recipe! But, I did tweak the ingredients a little. I added a bit more cheese and a bit less mayo. Also, in addition to the marinated artichokes, I added some brined artichokes. I loved that I didn't need an oven for this dip...I was able to bring it to a potluck and heat it up in our office's microwave.

Margarita Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2003
I wish I could give this recipe more than a 5-star rating! This cake was a big hit at a mexican themed dinner party. As suggested by other reviewers, I used white cake mix (rather than orange)and lime juice (rather than lemon) and I doubled the amount of glaze and added extra tequila to the glaze. Some reviewers thought that the glaze was too thin - I found that the thin glaze absorbed into the warm cake much better than a thick glaze would have. When I took the warm cake out of the pan, I turned it out onto a rack and put the rack on top of a sided cookie sheet...this allowed me to spoon excess glaze back onto the cake - I didn't want a single drop of that yummy glaze to go to waste! I will definitely be making this cake again soon.

Chocolate Gingerbread Boys And Girls

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2004
I love this recipe! The dough might be grainy and you might wonder how you'll ever get it rolled out...not to worry - it rolls out beautifully after a minute or so of gentle kneading. These were a big hit on Christmas Eve...both gingerbread lovers and haters liked them. Those who love gingerbread liked the chocolate addition and those who normally dislike gingerbread enjoyed the mild spice flavor. I'll be making these again, for sure!

Baked Onion Dip I

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2001
I made this for a holiday party...it was a big hit! Tastes great hot or cold. I made a full batch for the party and a small single-serve batch a few days later...very easy to make both times.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2001
Just the right amount of sweetness. Not only was this easy to make, but it looked and tasted great! Rather than Granny Smith apples, I used a combination of Empire and Paula Red apples. I brought a slice to a friend who doesn't like apple pie - turned out to be a bad idea...he loved this pie so much that he's driving me nuts asking when I'll bring him more! I'll definitely make this one again.

Mango Tango Black Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2003
Delicious! I made this salsa a day ahead...glad I did, that really gave the flavors a chance to combine. I substituted 2 teaspoons of Goya Adobo Seasoning for the one teaspoon of garlic salt. I served the leftovers on top of grilled fish...soooo good!

Candied Kielbasa

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2005
I made this for a potluck and it was a big hit! As suggested by other reviewers, I cooked the kielbasa before adding it to the crockpot to cut down on the oil. I also added a 1/4 cup of yellow mustard for some extra tang. I'll be making this again for sure!

Romantic Chicken with Artichokes and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2001
Delicious! Rather than using boneless chicken breasts, which have a tendency to dry out quickly, I used legs and thighs...the extra cooking time needed for the bone-in chicken was worth it. I'll definitely make this again.

Slow Cooker Venison Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2001
This was a tasty and easy way to cook venison. I cooked the roast in the slow cooker on high for 3 hours and finished it in the oven for 1 hour. The gravy that the soup mixes made was very salty. I'll be making this again for sure...but, next time I'll add water to the dry soup mix to cut down on the saltiness and I'll be sure not to add any additional salt.
