I grew up in Chico and in Sacramento, I currently reside in Sac with my family. We have3 beautiful kids aged, 9,7, and 4! My husband and I work total oppisate schedules so trying to find time to cook is not easy...lol! It is relaxing for me to be in the kitchen, it is my favorite place in the house, my sanctuary! But, with little to no time during the weekdays, whatever is quick and easy is my motto!! I am sure all you moms/wifes out there understand!
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, that is my favorite, or anything new. I always get excited when I find a new recipe, I like to look at the ingrediants and then see what I could do to make my own or special. My family on the otherhand loves it when I make my special chicken or turkey enchiladas.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I have a tradition of having a holiday baking day every year. I really look forward to that. We have done it every year and sometimes my aunt and my grandma join in, it is great fun and something we will always remember. Another one is one we started with our kids, every year at Christmas we make hommade cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning, it just fun to do as a family. Gosh, there are so many that come to mind, but I just don't have enough space...lol!
My cooking triumphs
My most recent accomplishment was cookimg my very first Thanksgiving dinner all by myself last year, that was major, I was so proud of myself.
Also, really learning how important it is to watch your seasonings, they can really make or break your meal.
My cooking tragedies
My biggest tragedy was probably putting too much salt in cookies, spaghetti sauce, or numerous other things. Two times come to memory most though, one time, I think I was about 8 or 9 I was making PB cookies and I read the baking soda measurement wrong and ennded up putting 2/3 of a cup rather than a tsp., yea that was pretty nasty, and most recently I was adding seasoning to sauce and the garlic salt cap came off and that whole pot was ruined!
