Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2012
I have tried other banana bread recipes on this site...and this one is our favorite. I have made it several times now, with no alterations 9 as well as throwing in some nuts). I haven't needed to change anything. It is a lot of bananas for one loaf, but the refined sugar is less than any lassic style banana bread recipe I have come by, so I don't mind. It freezes up beautifully, and sometimes I pre-slice it, so that the kids can take a slice from the freezer and throw it in the toaster like they would a toaster waffle .

Fried Apple Pies

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
Great basic recipe. The apple sauce was fantastic. I had used 6 apples insterad of 4, and I had enough left that my kids enjoyed it chilled later. I added some spices to the crust recipe, like some other reviewers mentioned. I might add a tiny bit of sugar to the crust recipe instead of dusting it afterward, but that is just personal preference. Great starting recipe; you could personalize it in so many ways :)

Italian Bread II

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
great, simple recipe ! I "health"ed it up a bit by using half white flour, 1/2 whole wheat pastry flour and demerara sugar. I also had to add a touch more water ( where most reviewers said they needed less) but that is because of the type of yeast I use- my suggestion would be to start with one cup, and add 2 tablespoons of water until bread looks the right dough consistency. Great time saver :)
