Best Cherry Pie

Reviewed: May 31, 2014
I found this recipe while I was searching for a cherry pie recipe that would work using the sour cherries I just picked off of my cherry trees today. Boy did I ever pick a winner! I could have gobbled that whole pie up. Thank you for this wonderful recipe!

Hearty Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2014
This the BEST meatball recipe I have ever tried. I only had 1/3 LB of ground beef thawed, so I adjusted all the other ingredients accordingly. I'm making it again tomorrow! My whole family loved it, so it will join our list of regularly made meals!

Almond Brittle

Butter remained seperated from other ingredients the entire cooking process and when it finally all became one mixture it immediately burned.

Mini Cheesecakes

Reviewed: May 8, 2013
This is the BEST (not to mention the EASIEST!) cheesecake recipe I have ever tried! I followed the directions exactly and my cheesecakes came out SO yummy and with perfectly smooth tops. I did put a small pan of water in the oven with them...I don't know if that made any difference or not, but regardless..I'm sure they would have tasted just as good! This will now forever be my "go to" recipe when I want to make cheesecake! Thanks for sharing it!

Easy Pizza Sauce II

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
Easy and very good recipe! I did have to substitute Italian seasoning for the basil since I didn't have any, but I'm sure it would have been great either way!

Quick Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
I really want to give this recipe 5 stars just for the fact that it only takes TWO ingredients and is the easiest biscuit recipe I've ever tried. Unfortunately, the biscuits just aren't as good as I had hoped they would be. They were good but not 5 star good. I did have to add about 1/3 cup more cream, too. Still a good recipe when you're in a hurry! :)

Marzipan Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Great recipe! I used to make this every year at Christmas and shape it into fruits. It's been a few years since I made it, so I had to find a new recipe for it. This one is perfect! Love it!

Creme Filling I

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
I whipped and whipped this for the longest time and it was still very grainy. It tasted terrible, too...like sweet gritty grease. Adding vanilla helped the flavor, but nothing could help the grainy texture. I added half a cup of boiling water and a bunch more powdered sugar. It wasn't much help. I would steer clear of this recipe altogether!

Wisconsin Cheese Soup I

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
I made this for the first time last night for my Bunco group, and it did not disappoint! I even forgot to add the salt & pepper and people still raved over it. LOL. I did substitute bacon for the ham but either way would have been wonderful. The vegetables came out so tender and the soup was so creamy and not clumpy/gritty at all, thanks to the instruction on when to add the cheese! Definitely a keeper!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
We loved these! I was looking for a new waffle recipe to try because the recipe I've been using isn't that great. I chose this recipe because it sounded the easiest. What a bonus that it also tastes great! This is my new "go to" waffle recipe. Thank you!

Best Ever Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
These are the BEST cinnamon rolls I have ever made! I thought they were really easy to make, too. I did have to use about 7.5 cups of flour total but other than that, the recipe is perfect as written. Thanks!

Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
I used a 29 ounce can of peaches which I thought was perfect. I also added a bit of cinnamon but I think even as written, this would have been a 5 star recipe. It was absolutely wonderful and our dinner guests loved it, too!

New York Cheesecake III

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
WOW!! This is SO good and so creamy. It's definitely the closest recipe to New York deli cheesecake that I've ever tried. My husband bragged all over this cheesecake! I couldn't believe the top didn't crack; it was perfect! I followed the recipe exactly as stated (using a 9X13 pan since I don't own a springform) and the only problem I had was getting the crust pressed in evenly (it ended up too thick in the corners and too thin at the top), so next time I am going to use graham crackers. By the way, I had a little filling leftover so I made a few individual cheesecakes in muffin tins. The only thing I could find to use as a crust was a pack of mini Chips Ahoy cookies, so I crushed them and lined the bottom of the muffin tins with them...and those ended up being the BEST mini cheesecakes ever. Thanks for the great recipe!

Mrs Espy's Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
I'm giving this 5 stars because it is a WONDERFUL base recipe for enchilada sauce. Yes, you may have to tweak it and spice it up a bit more but I think it's better to have a recipe that you can add to and make it "your own" rather than a recipe that is set in stone and you find it too spicy once you've got it made. I followed the recipe exactly as written first to see how I needed to spice it up to my tastes. I then added 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1 TB taco seasoning, and instead of just 1/4 cup of tomato sauce I added the entire small can (which I think is 1 cup). This made the BEST pan of enchiladas I have ever made in my life. It tastes like it came from a restaurant. Thank you, Brenda! I will use this over and over!

Old-Fashioned Coconut Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2010
I'd give this 10 stars if I could! My daughters saw the iCarly episode about the "best coconut cream pie", so they insisted I make one. I had never made one in my life, so I searched this site and decided on this recipe. Boy, did I do good with my choice! It was AMAZING. I followed the recipe exactly as it is and it worked out perfect. My husband and I polished off almost an entire pie the first day. I made 2 more of them yesterday and out of 16 pieces there are only 7 left. Thank you Barbara, thank you my children, and thank you iCarly! LOL

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
You get 5 stars because my picky picky husband actually LOVED this. He went back for seconds then went back for thirds and scraped the frying pan clean. I loved it, too. I had seconds myself! I didn't think it tasted anything like the restaurant rice I usually get, but it had it's very own unique and wonderful flavor. I think next time I'll go lighter on the pepper because it was a little peppery for my tastes, but that sure didn't phase my husband! THANK YOU for posting this. This will be a new weekly dish for us! I will be sure to double it next time so we actually have leftovers to send for my husband's lunch. LOL.

Zesty Chicken Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
When I first saw this recipe I thought "That sounds gross", but then I read the reviews and after reading the first few I decided to try it. I LOVE this! I really thought it was going to taste horrible but it has a really good flavor to it and a great texture. I am trying to cut calories, so I left off the sour cream and cheese, cutting this down to 141 calories and 5 grams of fat per serving (Yes I figured it out!) based on 8 servings. Next I'm going to work on a substitution for the taco seasoning that will taste just as good but cuts down on the sodium. What a GREAT addition to my new healthy lifestyle! Thank you so much!

Sour Cream Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
I give the actual cookie 4 and a half stars and give the icing 5 stars! The cookie is good; it's very soft and a little hard to get off the pan so you have to be sure and grease your pan well and don't let the cookies cool very long before moving them to a cooling rack. It's not a real sweet cookie so it definitely needs icing, but wow..this icing is SO yummy. I've made powdered sugar icing many times to frost cookies but never thought to add cream cheese. I had some icing leftover and just ate it with a spoon :)
