Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this dish! We said over and over to eachother during the meal, "This is soo good!". The thyme gave it a wonderful flavor-one that was surprisingly similar to the taste of a Cheesesteak! Because we didn't have canned or fresh mushrooms on hand, that was omitted. As well as the oil because I used the grease from the ground beef to cook the onion while it browned. Then I added the Thyme to the beef/onion. And didn't drain the grease. Then I added the sauce ingredients and let it simmer while I cooked the pasta. As I love to do, I also doubled the topping. It was just so good! We are looking forward to the leftovers.

Ultimate High Altitude Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
We're at about 4,300 feet and I've been having a difficult time finding a good cookie recipe. I followed this one exactly and my husband and I really enjoyed this. The dough and cookies were VERY yummy! Thanks! (Afternote: These cookies have passed the 2 day test! They taste delicious even 2 days after being made! I won't be making any other chocolate/white chocolate chip cookies from here on out!)

Ten Minute Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
This recipe had more of an empty heat...It didn't thrill my tastebuds-it seemed to me to be a bit too much spice but my husband liked it. Didn't love it but liked it.

Tuna Rice Puff

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
I must have done something totally wrong-but I followed the directions to a T. This was not only a pretty taxing dish to make (not to mention the amount of cleanup needed afterwards!) but the results were not worth all the effort put into the prep. I was hoping for a new twist on a boring tuna casserole but I found myself longing for the same old familiar food I was trying to replace. Back to the drawing board...

Chicken Lasagna IV

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
My husband and I both agree, with a sacrilegious name like "Chicken Lasagna" this dish wouldn't have been something we would order at a restaurant. But oh boy, after having tried this recipe, we have added it to our regular meal rotation! Made exactly as directed and loved every bite of it! PERFECT.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Unfortunately I found the flavor to be a little flat. I followed the recipe as is and it just wasn't our favorite. Maybe I had a weird cooking day and it will taste better next time!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
While this recipe isn't like the store-bought breaded Chicken Cordon Bleu, it is sure delicious! The sauce was especially good-we loved the tangy flavor. Next time, I may want to add some breadcrumbs to the flour/paprika mixture to give it a little more crunch. Other than that, we sure enjoyed this dish!

S'more Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
PERFECT. I used the "Best Brownies" recipe by Angie with this one. The last 10 minutes of baking, I put on the toppings. After it was done baking, I turned the oven off and left them in the warm oven for another 5 minutes or so. The chocolate and marshmallows melted perfectly! My family loved this dessert and I loved that it used up the leftover S'more ingredients from our last campfire before they went stale. Thank you for this fun recipe!!

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
What a delicious recipe! I follewed the directions exactly and unfortunately found the filling to be a bit on the dry side (for my family, at least) so I added a can of cream of chicken soup the second time I made this and it was just the way we liked it. With all the spices called for, it turned out to taste like a pot pie I would order at a restaurant. It also made enough to fill two 9 inch pies so I froze half in a freezer zip loc bag and the night before we wanted pot pie again, I just moved the bag into the fridge to thaw. It was ready to be baked by dinnertime!

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
While I was adding all the spices, I was concerned that they would be too overwhelming but boy was I wrong! I followed this recipe exactly (only halving the portions) and the product was a deliciously spicy sauce with a hint of sweetness. The spice wasn't tongue numbing, either, like I thought it would be. The flavor exploded in every bite and had such great depth! Store-bought BBQ sauce is just plain flat. I will never buy BBQ sauce again!

Pillow-Soft Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
DELICIOUS. I doubled the water as another reviewer strongly suggested. These lived up to my expectations of a soft, tasty roll. They had a beautiful brown exterior but remained soft. For dinner, I topped them off with melted butter and the flavor was awesome! There were just three of us so I halved the recipe and then froze the extra rolls by wrapping them in saran wrap and putting in a freezer ziploc bag. Looking forward to thawing those and also making this recipe again!
