Creamy Homemade Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2014
Because of so many complaints about the soup separating, I made it on the stove, adding the milk in at the end just enough to warm it through with the rest of the soup. I used chicken that I had slow cooked the day before. I used a regular onion, which I sauteed in butter since I don't care for pearl onions. Aside from these minor changes, I followed the recipe and it was FABULOUS.

Milk Braised Pork Loin

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2014
The pork loin ended up being juicy and delicious. I did serve it with the leftover brown sauce, after skimming out the curdled milk (I couldn't get past the idea of it to eat it). I used Thyme and Marjoram instead of Rosemary as a personal preference (don't like Rosemary) and I used 3 cloves of garlic. It was perfect! I'm only docking a star because the recipe doesn't address the curds that form with this - was I supposed to whisk them further? Remove them? Not entirely sure.

Cajun Spiced Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
Delicious and just the right amount of spice. I added 1/4 tsp of chili powder, and since I didn't have garlic salt, I used 1/2 tsp garlic powder and added 1/4 tsp of sea salt. Yummy! I will make this again.

Three Sisters Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
This soup was fabulous! No extra seasoning needed, it was perfect as is. I used vegetarian "no-chicken" bouillon instead of the granules and I did take the immersion blender to it, since it didn't thicken as much as I wanted. I left it plenty chunky, and blending did the trick. I will definitely add this to my winter soup collection.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Deee-licious! I actually do like Brussels sprouts, but I had them roasted at a fancy restaurant a few months back and they were the best I'd ever had, so I came on here looking for a recipe to duplicate it. This was it!! I followed recipe exactly is, except I cut them in half. They were perfect, crunchy, and an amazing sweet/salty taste. Don't be afraid of the blackened bits...they taste the best! Thanks for the recipe!

Witches' Brew

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
The taste was excellent on this punch and the hand was highly entertaining for everyone...until it melted. Once it started to break up, leaving gelatin globs in the punch, no one would go near it again. As cute as it was, I'll have to stick to the plain ice hands.

Black Halloween Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
Simple, yummy, and the ice hand was a huge hit. I made several and had them floating all around the big punch bowl. Since it was a grown up party, I added vodka. Everyone loved it!

Halloween Eye of Newt

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
These were a huge hit at my Friday the 13th party! I forgot to add the celery salt, but they were delicious anyway. The only change I made was to use brown dijon mustard instead of yellow mustard, since it was what I had. YUM!

Mom's Brown Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
As a Canadian, I love my poutine, but since going vegetarian, I haven't been able to find a suitable brown gravy for anything, let alone poutine. This was outstanding! I served my poutine at a BBQ and everyone loved it, including those gobbling up the animal flesh. :) This recipe is a keeper!

Cajun Style Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Truth be told, I'm a meatloaf junkie. I LOVE meatloaf. I also hate spicy food. But my cousin made this recipe for me when I visited her in Texas and I immediately asked for the recipe. This is the BEST MEATLOAF EVER. I has a heck of a kick. Too much for my cousin...she says she wouldn't make it again. I, however, have made this several times since that visit. I absoltely love it!!! In fact, I'm about to make it again for the girls at work to try out. This is GREAT STUFF!
