I'm a romance novelist who writes smokin' hot books. I've got over a dozen in publication and more under contract. (jroseallister.com for any who are interested.) I have seven children and five grandchildren, and live with my husband, who is also a writer as well as an actor and prop maker.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and make candy, though I typically only manage this at the holidays! I work full time so love crock pot recipes or other quick-n-easy tasty dishes. I'm addicted to Food Network and online how-to cooking videos when I have time!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father worked in a candy factory as a very young man, and my great grandmother was a candy making whiz. My mom made all sorts of candies every Christmas, and after a several year hiatus (fudge only) I have picked up this family tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Won first prize in a Halloween baking contest for my "haunted house" cake. My two-toned fudge has people chasing me around at work begging for more. So does my whole wheat chocolate chip cookies, guava cake, and banana bites.
My cooking tragedies
Um, I'd gladly go into this, but this section says I'm only allowed one thousand characters maximum. LOL
I will say that my first disaster was chocolate, cheddar cheese, and Lawry's seasoning salt tortillas. I was eight. My mother ate every bite, bless her soul.
