Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
They turned out okay, I'm not sure they were worth the extra time though. They weren't that much better than the instant stuff but took a lot more time preparing.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
I've made this recipe the past two years and I love it! Last year it was with a cheap bird and this year with a more expensive Butterball turkey, both turned out wonderful. Something with the legs though, this weird stringy hard cartilage type stuff remains and makes it unpleasant to try and eat the legs. I don't know if it was just the turkey or the way it's cooked, even if it is the way it's cooked the recipe is still worth it for the yummy moist breast meat.

Molasses Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
SoooOOOooo good. Both me & my fiance loved these cookies! He asked for me to always have them in the house from now on (he's never asked me to do that before.) I made one batch, I'm planning on doing two more this Christmas, one extra to give out with our Christmas cookie plates and the other to freeze so we can microwave whenever we want more! Thanks for the WONDERFUL recipe!!

Sooo good! I wish I had more turkey to make this again! Maybe I'll try it with leftover chicken.

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
I didn't like this... it wasn't bland because I added sauteed onion, garlic, mushrooms, and extra salt. It tasted really good before I baked it. After it was baked I just didn't like the texture. I thought the spagetti would get all yummy and crisp on top. It didn't, if I were to make it again I wouldn't bake it.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Really yummy! I love peas so I mixed in some frozen peas to the filling right before adding it to the crust. Next time I wont do that, the peas got too soft and turned the ugly greenish-brown. That was the only bad part of the dish, so I should have left the recipe how it originally was, perfect!

Cherry Snowballs

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Yuck. I spent hours making these cookies (it takes a loong time covering each cherry, baking them, mincing the coconut, glazing them and covering in coconut). After all of that I tried one and spit it out in the sink! I did not like the flavor. The positive part is that they were cute. Most of my family didn't like them either, with the exception of granny. She ate 4.

Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Ugh this recipe was a pain. It was easy to get all the ingredients together but I was having a hard time getting the baking time right. I made two whole batches and I think my last couple trays of cookies were okay, but there were countless burned ones and undercooked ones. It was hard to tell when they were "just right" until they were cooled. I'm just making the traditional ones next year.

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
I've never liked french toast but I make it once in awhile for my fiance. I tried this recipe and it was great! I actually at all mine and loved it. I didn't have special bread so I just used regular white so I didn't have the problem with sogginess others mentioned, it was perfect!

This recipe was ok... but not to die for. I made it at Thanksgiving and there was a lot left at the end of the night. But my aunt loved it and took the rest home.

Chocolate Caramel Candy

The size you cut these really makes a difference! They are very sweet so smaller is better. I made them on Friday and it took all day making sure the layers were set, then letting get to room temp to cut them without the top cracking... I was running late to my dinner party. So I cut them quickly into 1''x2'' bars thinking more would be better. No one really commented on these except to say they were very rich and sweet. Like they had to choke them down! After all that work I wanted to salvage them so I cut into 1'' squares like the recipe states, then cut them again diagonally. I brought these to a family get together Sunday and people were seriously groaning (in a good way) while eating them and SEVERAL people asked me to bring these EVERY year! I am a good cook & baker, but I don't think I have ever gotten a response like that before! Thanks for the great recipe!!!

Frosted Cranberries

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
These are yummy. My family gathers around eating these before dinner every Thanksgiving, they're more popular than the other appetizers! I also use corn syrup with a little water because I don't usually have pasteurized egg whites. Plus corn syrup sounds better with cranberries than uncooked eggs to me...

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
You can really taste the oatmeal! I wasn't so sure because of grinding it to a powder but it makes a difference. Also the grated chocolate MAKES these cookies! Yummy!
