Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
This is a great, easy to make and non-time consuming recipe. I used only 1/4 cup of brown sugar, substituted the beef for ground turkey, zucchini for cucumbers, omitted spinach, used regular white long grain rice, and used Schiracha. I also added some Daikon. No stoneware needed. It was delicious! This is indeed a very flexible recipe!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
What a fantastic recipe! This was easy to make and tasted light, but rich. Do not be afraid of the thin consistency of the final batter! I was very scared at how thin it was (almost like water), but after baking it, I was SUPER happy with the final texture and taste! Highly recommended .

This is an excellent tasting, less fattening recipe. I sub the pistachios with roasted, lightly salted almonds and they are wonderful! Highly recommended.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
This is a great, easy to follow recipe! To reduce time, I used a 40 oz can of sweet potatoes, drained the juice, and mashed them. I followed the rest of the steps per recipe. The sweet potatoes came out absolutely delicious!

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
This was a great, easy to follow recipe. The turkey came out very very moist, and was well received. A simple tip regarding the roasting-- if you don't have a rack, simply make one-- roll up aluminum foil into equal sized balls to fill up your roasting pan. Then place your turkey on top of that. The bottom of your turkey will then be able to roast as well!

Green Bean Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
A great, easy to follow and easy to make recipe. It can be made ahead of time, omitting the last onion topping step. When serving, simply add the onions on top to add the crunch factor back in.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
This is a great recipe. The only change I did was to use shortening instead of butter. It is very similar to the Wilton's rolled marshmallow fondant recipe. I just prefer to use the shortening to forgo the heavy butter taste. I also used my Kitchenaid mixer to do most of the kneading. I used the mixer for about 80% of the mixing, and when it became dough-like, I took it out and hand kneaded it for a few mintues, before storing. The taste is excellent, and I made my first fondant cake with it, which was a great success. I let the fondant sit for about 4 hours prior to using it and it was very workable. It was however, even better, the next day! The key to the successful fondant is making sure your work surface is well greased!!

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
This was such a wonderful buttercream icing recipe! I followed the recipe exactly, except I reduced the confectioner's sugar to three cups. I used the shortening/butter mix, instead of all butter as many reviewers suggested and thought the taste was great! I think even with the 4 cups of sugar, the taste would still have been wonderful. It's just a matter of how sweet you want your icing. I just have to say that I will NEVER ever look at the prepared icing again after this recipe. I tossed all the ingredients in at one time into my mixer and it was DONE in a few minutes! Thank you so much!

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
The overall taste was good, but the consistency and texture did not feel like we were eating cookies. I follwed the recipe exactly and ended up with cookies that were more like muffin tops. Still tasted pretty good.

Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
This was a very easy to make biscotti recipe. It was my first time making it and I modified it by adding pecans and chocolate chips to the batter. Absolutely delicious! Also, I did not have orange zest, so I subbed orange marmalade and it still turned out great. I baked them at 275 for an additional 15 minutes to make them extra crispy. Thank you!

Excellent recipe. I soak the bacon wrapped sausages in brown sugar for about 2 hours prior to making them. They cook for about 35 minutes and they are ready to go!

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
This was a very simple and fast recipe for macaroons. It had more of a cake like consistency versus a very sugary, dense consistency of standard store bought macaroons. They cooked a bit longer for me--about 18 minutes and I got about 16 golf sized macaroons. I let them stand for about 1 hour to solidify and drizzled them with chocolate. I used 1 14oz package of sweetened coconut flakes and added 1 tsp of almond extract to sub for 1 tsp of vanilla.
