Chicken Chimichangas with Sour Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2014
This probably the best recipe I have ever tried from All Recipes. It is absolutely delicious. As other reviewers stated, you must be PATIENT and let the water cook down. Trust me, the flavor and tenderness of the chicken is worth the wait. I doubled the cumin and onion powder. I also used minced garlic (doubled) instead of garlic powder. My kids don't like spicy foods yet so I only used 1/2 tsp of chili powder and barely a pinch of cayenne. For the sour cream sauce, I used chicken broth so I omitted the water and bouillon. I don't deep fry so I basted the tops of the chimichangas with melted butter and baked at 400 10-15 mins. TRULY OUTSTANDING! I make Mexican Rice II from the is site religiously and as another reviewer stated, it is a great accompaniment. I topped my chimichangas with a bit of guac and oh my gosh. Phenomenal.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2014
Amazing!!! Followed recipe exactly except for reducing temp as top commenters have suggested. I used a 9" deep dish Marie Callender's crust. It was delicious and I will make it again. Perfect with vanilla ice cream!

Lemonade Pie III

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2014
My Granny was NOT a cook, but she was known for these pies. They are so simple and yummy! I have always made them exactly this way, but I ALWAYS divide the mixture between 2 regular 9" pie crusts. It always seems filled an ample amount and it keeps it from being TOO much sweetness in a slice. We love it. Thanks for sharing this recipe so I can keep it in my Allrecipes album!

Strawberry Syrup

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
The only reason I am rating this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I would have preferred it half as sweet. I should have read the reviews first. I served it over plain pancakes but it was still too sweet for me. It is a great, easy recipe but I would half the sugar.

Sauteed String Beans

Wonderful dish. We gobbled them up. I omitted the onions and added lots of grated parmesan. The parmesan was a delicious touch!

Brown Rice

Excellent rice dish. My 5 year old had multiple helpings! We ate the whole dish in one evening. Omitted most of the basil, but kept the rest of the recipe the same. A keeper!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
This recipe should be renamed AMAZING chicken. I actually loaded my chicken into the crockpot and then added the rest of the ingredients. I served over white rice. It was a hit with my family, including my picky 5 year old. I did find it a bit too salty, but I believe that is due to my slow simmering for 5 hours. I will cut back on the teriyaki sauce a bit and the bacon bits. Regardless, it was still delicious and fall-apart-excellent served over the rice.

Chinese Cabbage Salad II

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
This recipe is amazing, especially for those of us who do not care for a traditional slaw. The alterations I made for this recipe were using cabbage coleslaw instead of broccoli and 5 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar instead of the 3 tbsp. of red wine vinegar. I also omitted the onions and did not miss them one bit. It was a hit when my family visited this weekend!

Ranch Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
Delicious burgers! I use Extra Lean Meat and they came out so moist and delicious. I was only using 1 lb. of beef, so I added 1/2 a pack of onion soup mix in place of the onions, I omitted the egg and used 10 Ritz in place of the saltines. We added a few dashes of worschestshire. We did use 1 full ranch seasoning pack but felt it was too salty with the other ingredients so I would only use 1/2 pack next time. Again, I prepared 1 lb. compared to the 2 lbs. the recipe calls for. We are going to make these again this weekend when my husband's family visits. They will be impressed!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I have now made this recipe twice and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I make it in the crockpot, using all of the ingredients listed with these exceptions: I only use 1/2 a pack of seasoning (to lessen the saltiness) and I also add 1/2 cup of water to thin the sauce slightly. I also use bowtie pasta instead of angel hair but I have tried both.

Beef Barbecue Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
My mom grew up making these for her little brother's cub scout troop. She served them to us and now I make them for my family. I love them! I do recommend using Kraft Original barbecue sauce. I have tried other sauces but this is the only one that my mom or I care for. Also, I never use just 3/4 lb. because I always buy 1 lb. packs. I add a little extra off all of the other ingredients. I usually buy two cans of biscuits instead of one and fill up as many biscuit cups as it takes to use up the meat mixture. Any remaining biscuits, I go ahead and cook to save for the morning.

Chocolate Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
Okay, so I learned an important lesson making this. Apparently the weights of the sugar free puddings are drastically smaller than the weights of the regular puddings. I did not realize I was picking up the sugar free puddings and ended up having to put 5 or 6 boxes of it in to add up to the suggested ounce sizes in the recipe. Well, the recipe turned out fine, it was just extremely sweet and I think that is probably because of the mistake in buying the sugarfree pudding. I took it to my husband's work and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I am rating this recipe 4 stars, because if I had followed I can tell it would have been very good!

Onion Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
I served this rice beneath herbed feta chicken. I also used long grain organic rice and used the 2 parts broth to 1 part rice method, as another reviewer suggested. It was very good with the tartness of the chicken, however, it would maybe be a little bland for my tastes on the side by itself.
