Country-Style Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
Great recipe, my husband loved it. I am not usually a fan of cube steak, but this was moist and tender. I doubled the gravy by increasing the broth to a 32oz box of broth and then adding 5 Tbsp. of the flour mixture. It turned out great!

Chicken Mole

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
Great flavor, I agree the combination sounds odd to some but the flavor is wonderful. I did change a few things, I cooked the onion and garlic then added everthing else for the sauce except substituted the cloves for 1/2 tsp. chili powder. I then poured it over bonless skinless chicken breasts in my crock pot and let it cook on high for 3 hours. It turned out great.

Brennan's Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
Amazing!! I was looking for a go to Irish Soda Bread recipe, this is above and beyond what I was looking for. Honestly, I was not a huge fan of soda bread, but my husband likes it. After he tried it he said it was the best soda bread he had ever had. I have tried a few recipes in the past this is the only one I will make again and again.

Forgotten Party Cookies

Simple and wonderful cookies. These were easy to make and turned out perfect. I made my first batch with rum extract and mini chocolate chips. I think my next batch will be peppermint with chocolate chips. This recipe is a keeper!

Coconut Cake IV

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
I had to change this a little because of what I had on hand. I used 1 cup milk with 1 Tbsp. vingegar to substitute the buttermilk and only used 1 cup of sugar, as I didn't want a really sweet cake. I also pulsed the coconut in the food processor for a few seconds. That being said the cake was good. The flavor was nice, but it was very crumbly. I made 2 8" rounds and split them to make a layer cake and they were falling apart as I split them. I frosted the cake with a white chocolate frosting and added toasted coconut between the layers with the frosting. It tasted good, but fell apart as I was cutting into it.

Cheddar Cheese Straws

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
These are really easy and good. I made half the batch just as the recipe said, except I added a few Tbsps. of milk. They tasted good, and then I added a little dry mustard and garlic powder and they had a really nice flavor.

Irish Soda Farls

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
Sooo Good and easy!!! I made this for breakfast on St. Patty's day, my husband loved them. I did add a pinch of salt. I am always nervous about cooking on anything ungreased, but these came out perfect! They almost tasted a bit like soda crackers.

Brownie Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
I needed a last minute cake filling for my son's birthday cake, this worked great. After adding the chocolate chips and vanilla I let it cool until slightly thickened, then spread it on one half of the cake then put it in the fridge to set. After about 10 minutes it was set and I added the top layer of cake. It was really a layer of fudge in the middle of the cake, very decadent!

Round Steak and Gravy II

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
Really good and so easy. Used golden mushroom soup, half can of milk, 1 package of lipton soup mix and a cup of water. Good, but a little salty, may only use 1/2 a packet of soup mix.

Butter Brickle Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
Good cake for something a little different. I added 3oz cream cheese and toffee bits to the batter. I baked mine as a bundt at 350 for 55 minutes. Be sure to grease and flour the pan really well if you make the bundt, mine still stuck a little.

Chocolate Mint Dessert Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
Great brownies!! I followed the advice and made my own brownie (from a box) and then used the mint frosting and chocolate topping. They are so easy and amazing! I used 1 tsp. peppermint extract and my recipes was lost so I guessed for the chocolate topping and used 1 cup chocolate chips and 2 Tbsp. butter, still came out great!

Marshmallow Fondant

This was my first time ever making fondant and it turned out perfect. I did use liquid food coloring and found that the fondant did get a little sticky. I just added a little powdered sugar and it turned out great!

Margarita Cake

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
I was so hopeful for this cake. I wanted to make it for a party so I made one the day before and the the cake deflated in the pan. The flavor was okay. Thinking it was just a fluke, I made another cake the next day and again it deflated. I have never had this happen to me and I have made MANY bundt cakes, my favorite being the Irish Cream on this site. Maybe there is too much liquid in this recipe?

Eggless Peanut Butter Cookies

These cookies turned out really thin for me. I even tried adding more flour and refridgerating the dough. I really like a thick, crumbly peanut butter cookie. I will keep looking for that perfect recipe!
