Spanakopita (Greek Spinach Pie)

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2013
5 star after my changes. I used a 10 oz box of baby spinach, 9x12 pan, 1 egg, otherwise the same. It is difficult to work with phyllo dough unless you use an olive oil cooking spray.

Cranberry Orange Loaf

I took this one to the vets office as their annual Christmas present from my cat Tigger. They all loved it.

Homemade Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
A very good pie. I have made fresh pumpkin pie before, but this was the best ever after a few amendments. I added a large pinch of allspice and made my own pastry as I dislike pastry with shortning in.

Cranberry Nut Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2012
I got a lot of complements on this bread. It was tangy and delicious. I used pecans instead of walnuts and cut the sugar a bit. I also used a stick of butter instead of oil which made it more cake-like.

Irish Brown Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2012
This was just like the soda bread I had in Ireland. The other recipes I tried bore absolutely no resemblance to it. I make it every St Patricks Day now.

Ranch Dressing with Fresh Herbs

Reviewed: May 22, 2014
I didn't put either shallots or buttermilk in. I used low fat greek yoghurt instead of the buttermilk and sour cream. It was very, very good.

Barbara's Golden Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Very good. I made it with all butter. It was gone in a day. I only made half the recipe, which was plenty.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2014
Fabulous! So simple as well. I used butter, as I always do. I think shortening is disgusting. I think some of the people that review these recipes don't know how to cook. I read that one person forgot the baking powder but "didn't think that would have made enough difference to not make them turn out well" (DUH)

Huli Huli Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
I left out the brown sugar and am giving it 5 stars. It would have been far too sweet otherwise

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
We loved these pancakes. They were salty, as everybody said, but I didn't notice until I read the reviews and tasted one without any syrup on. You could always use less salt.

A nice light recipe, fruity and not too sweet. I used chopped almonds. I took it to work for a pot luck and it went fast.

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
I cut the sugar to 2/3 and used about 1/3 whole wheat flour. After that it was excellent, and much more to my family's taste.

Christmas Stollen

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
A difficult recipe that didn't rise well. I know that there was nothing wrong with my yeast or the temperature in my kitchen. I am wondering if it would be better to let the dough rise initially without the fruit, and then knead it in before letting it rise for a second time. It was still delicious even though heavy, so I am going to try that next time.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
This was a good biscuit recipe, in fact I would suggest putting it into muffin pans and making individual biscuits. Unfortunately it bore absolutely no resemblance to Irish soda bread.
