About this Cook
I have grown a real passion for cooking and entertaining. Some like to call me a "Mini Martha in training"
My favorite things to cook
Hands down my favorite thing to cook is Chili and Old South corn bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family heritage is Ukrainian, so I like following the traditional approach of everything homemade.
My cooking triumphs
This past Christmas I hosted dinner for both my Fiances family and mine. Lets just say it was marvelous and the guests went home with all the recipes!
My cooking tragedies
I believe in 5 main cooking strategies: 1. Never test out a recipe on unsuspecting guests, attempt to make it once before. 2. Fresh, Fresh, Fresh ingredients are key. 3. Have patients !!! 4. Have fun !!! 5. Enjoy the meal with Family & Friends.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake
This is the ultimate pie for any Thanksgiving dinner!! I made it last year (and what month are we in? Sept) and I am already looking forward to making it this year for my family and soon to be inlaws. Wouldn't change a thing about the prep for this recipe, I would also recommend "Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie" by Anita L. Both make for a lovely selection at the desert table. Enjoy, I know I will :)

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie
This is the ultimate pie for any Thanksgiving dinner!! I made it last year (and what month are we in? August) and I am already looking forward to making it this year for my family and soon to be inlaws. Wouldn't change a thing about the prep for this recipe, I would also recommend "The double layer Pumpkin Cheesecake" by S. Phillips. Both make for a lovely selection at the desert table. Enjoy, I know I will :)

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II
This was a great recipe! It took no time to prepare and make. The only changes I made were: 6 medium yellow potatoes, 2 medium leeks, 2 cups of milk in addition to the 4c of chicken stock, and I partially mashed the potatoes so that the potatoes and liquids was creamy. Other then that I highly recommend this recipe.
