Honey Oatmeal Bread II

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
I made this today with only a few minor changes. I substituted 1 cup of the bread flour for wheat flour. I also added approx 2 tbsp of flax meal. The rest of the recipe was the same. The flavor of this bread is INCREDIBLE. I put it in the bread machine for the dough cycle and then took it out for the rising and baking. The dough was a bit sticky but it turned out perfect. I would highly recommend this recipe. Thank you for sharing.

Banana Oatmeal Cookies III

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
It's just like eating banana bread, with that little cookie crunch. I did not include the nuts, since my son cannot take any thing with nuts to school. Instead I substituted chocolate chips, which was a hit. I also added about 1 tsp of vanilla to give it an added touch. Will definitely make these again.

Potato Latkes I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
I was craving these after getting an email for sweet potato latkes. I whipped up a batch just now and ate too many of them. I played with the recipe a bit. I added extra onion, shredded zucchini, and some seasoned panko bread crumbs. They turned out just as I had hoped. Mmmm.

Savory Bubble Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
These were great! I didn't have time to let the dough rise twice, but that didn't matter. After they were finished kneading in the bread machine, I took them out and dressed them up with the butter and parmesan cheese mixture. They ended up crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Highly recommended!!!

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
Great recipe. I used the seasoning from the Kansas City Style Pork Back Ribs (from the all recipes site)to season the sweet potatoes. I ate the hot and cold. My family loved them. Great for a snack or with dinner. Thanks

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
This recipe is great. Quick and easy and very flavorful. I substituted Canadian Bacon for the ham and omitted the salt. I used Better than Bouillon instead of bouillon cubes. I also finely chopped the celery and added finely chopped carrots to add in (and hide) extra veggies for the kids. It was a hit. Thank you for sharing.

Apple Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
I was concerned that 2 cups of sugar would make the batter too sweet, but it's not. I made the recipe as is, and my cake turned out great. I think that I may experiment with less oil next time to try and make it a bit healthier. Maybe 1/2 oil and 1/2 applesauce. Thanks for sharing.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
These turned out great. I used some suggestions from others. I substituted the 1/2 c of vegetable oil with 1/4c canola oil and 1/4c apple sauce. Instead of raisins, I used chocolate chips. I can't wait to experiment a bit more next time. The kids loved them. They are almost like a thick oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. Very satisfying!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
This should be named the Reece's Pieces Pie because it tasted just like them. This pie was so decadent. A small piece went a long way. I made it with the nutter butter crust and the low fat cream cheese and it was great. Rave reviews from the whole family.

Kansas City Style Pork Back Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
I made these ribs for a family gathering. The rub tasted great when I sampled it before putting in on the ribs. After they cooked and the BBQ sauce was on, all I tasted was the sauce. I think that next time I will add some crushed red pepper or cayenne to give it a kick.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
My kids and I loved this recipe. I made it exactly as written, with the addition of a tsp of vanilla extract. The topping was sweet, but that was my kids favorite part. I tended to get the muffin bottoms as my piece. Thanks for a great recipe.

French Bread Rolls to Die For

These are so easy to make and so much better with the meal than the store bought kind. I added some kosher salt and dried herbs to the top, which added that extra touch. Rave reviews from all the family, even the 3 year old!

Pumpkin Spice Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
Muffins were light and moist. Flavor was simple but good. Will add nuts, cranberries, or raisins next time to try something different. I did make a few alterations, as others had mentioned. Used vanilla extract instead of almond, used 3 tsp of pumpkin pie spice instead of the cinnamon and nutmeg, and added 1/3 c of brown sugar. Enjoyed this healthier version. Thank you.
