Baked Apple Oatmeal

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This is a great basic recipe you can modify easily - I often only measure the milk and oats. I also normally cut back on the sugar, forget to add the nuts and raisins and add equal amounts of wheat germ and wheat or oat bran. Adding bran makes the taste more mild. That might help those who were having trouble with an "off" flavor - wheat germ has a very strong flavor. I've also had success adding peaches instead of apples. And it does look quite unglamorous when it is ready to eat, but it tastes glorious! Enjoy!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
These were so good, I want to call them "company" pancakes! They were light and fluffy and delicious! That said, one recipe only fed one semi-hungry pregnant woman and two-year old boy. They were so fluffy and light that I needed to eat more of them to get filled up. :)

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
A great beginning, this pudding tastes good but needs more chocolate. Also, if you don't like it super thick, just decrease the amount of cornstarch. I doubled the recipe and didn't change the cornstarch and it set up just like boxed pudding would.

Mom's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
This recipe is fabulous! I have made it three times now and have had beautiful flaky crust each time. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because 3 tablespoons is too much sugar - I only added 1, maybe 2 and it is plenty sweet. The directions also don't say to place the flour/butter mixture in the fridge for a while before adding the ice water. Having the flour/butter cold as well as the ice water helps it all clump like the directions say. Overall an excellent recipe that I will use countless times! Thank you Debra!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
These cookies are excellent and well worth the extra time it takes to freeze and unwrap the candies. I've found that using bread flour (with maybe with an extra 1-2 tablespoons) instead of all purpose flour yields a very tender cookie, crunchy peanut butter adds a more peanut buttery flavor and that making them a day ahead gives them the best taste. They are alright just out of the oven, but excellent the next day, heated slightly in the microwave.

Allie's Delicious Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2007
Thia recipe was fantastic and everyone who tried it, loved it. I also added the mustard and bread crumbs etc. It was delicious. The reason it gets a 4 instead of 5 rating is because it definitely takes about 45 mintues to prepare and only needs about 25 minutes to cook and 3 mintues to broil and make the breadcrumbs crispy.
