This is a great recipe. The only things I changed were to boil the potatoes till slightly done, let them cool and rice them. It makes a lot, lot, lot so have a crowd to feed to have lots of leftovers. I did add a little extra bacon (1/2c) and green onions (1/3). Adding 3 large cloves of fresh garlic helps also.
Making the sauce takes a while since you can't turn the heat up high or it'll burn on the bottom.
