Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
This was very good, but a little too hot for me and I like hot stuff. Next time I will add alot less of the hot pepper, omit the habanero and no hot sauce. I will try with only 1/2 of the seasoned salt next time, since there's alot of sodium in this recipe.

Apple Stuffed Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2010
This was good. I was nervous, because it's different, but it turned out okay. I used chicken stock instead of water, added a little bit of cinnamon to the stuffing, used more cheese because I love it, and after stuffing and rolling the chicken, I seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper and a bit of garlic powder. I browned the chicken well. I also added cinnamon and brown sugar to the sauce. Boyfriend gave it a 4.2 on a scale of 1 to 5, so I'll be making this again. Also, I took meaty chicken breasts and pounded the heck out of them, so they were wide. This made them easier to stuff, roll and secure with toothpicks. I had almost none of the stuffing fall out .

Oven-Roasted Cauliflower

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2013
This recipe was good. The parm cheese addition at the end is important as it adds alot of flavor. Also, either my oven wasn't working properly, or it needed more time to cook. I expected it to be a little softer. I only used about 1/2 the salt, as it seemed like too much for my taste.

Marinated Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
This was very tasty, although next time I would reduce the oil. I used honey instead of the syrup and one clove of chopped garlic instead of the garlic powder.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Very tasty and easy. I used lemon juice and pepper, like others did. I also forgot to add vegetable oil, but it was still great. I cooked in aluminum foil packet in toaster oven at 450 for 25 minutes.

Baked Salmon Fillets Dijon

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
This was very good and extremely easy. I mixed the melted butter and bread crumbs together then spread on the salmon. I would use 1/2 the butter next time. It was more than needed.

Left-Over Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
This was very good. I used my leftover turkey gravy, leftover green beans, corn and carrots. I did not add mushrooms - boyfriend doesn't like them. We thought may next time, we could add a little green bell pepper... just a thought.

Flounder Mediterranean

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
This was delicious and I didn't even have all of the ingredients. I did not have olives, so added a few extra capers. I used garlic powder and dried basil instead of fresh garlic and basil. I had some leftover asparagus, so added that also. I did not add the parm cheese either. I seasoned the flounder and baked for about 15-20 mins and then just added to the frying pan with other ingredients. I'm sure if I used all of the right ingredients, this would be even better. I will be making this over and over again, since it tastes great, is easy and is not fattening.

Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
These were a great hit at a recent party - everyone commented on how good they were. I enjoyed them too, but thought perhaps they needed a little extra something, perhaps a little garlic. I used canned crabmeat. I will definintely use this recipe in the future. Update: When I made this again, I minced fresh garlic and sauteed in the butter, which added alot more flavor.

Chicken With Sweet and Sour Fig Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2014
This recipe was alot of work and created a big, big mess. I thought the flavor was good. Boyfriend didn't like it. I seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper and garlic powder before I mixed it in the batter. I won't make this again.

Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2013
I found this to be a little bland. I made my own filling by using cream cheese, fresh minced garlic, fresh parsley and a little fresh basil. I pounded the chicken thin, salted the chicken, dipped both sides in the butter and dredged both sides in the bread crumbs. I also added a little mozzerella to the filling. If I made it again, I would marinate the chicken overnight.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
This was okay. I didn't use Worcestershire sauce because I don't like it. I used a little browning sauce instead. I used barbeque sauce on top. I used 2 eggs and had no problem with it falling apart. As it was cooking I used a paper towel a few times to absorb the water/juice that was surrouning it so it wouldn't be mushy. I cut the leftovers into pieces and froze individually and will eat like a hamburger. I think with burger fixins it will be good. Update: I've defrosted the frozen leftovers and put on an english muffin and ate them as burger. They were much better.

Simple Garlic Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2013
This was really very good - I made exactly as directed Boyfriend and I both enjoyed it. It's much easier if you have everything prepared and measured before you start, especially if you are cooking other things at the same time. We served this over white rice and just happen to have a zucchini from the garden that had to be cooked, so we fried it up using another recipe on this site. Great meal. p.s. I need to double or triple the sauce, perhaps by adding some white wine to it after removing the shrimp.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: May 19, 2013
This soup was very tasty. I give it 5 stars. Boyfriend gave it 4. I added 3 cans of beef broth, used 2 cloves of garlic and added an additional 1/2 chopped fresh tomato in addition to the stewed tomatoes. I used 1/2 pack of frozen spinach and added some pasta as well. Although I loved this soup, to make it a little healthier, I think 1/2 the sausage would be just fine because there's an abundance of sausage and sausage flavor.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
This was really great. I didn't use pork tenderloin - instead a cheaper cut and it was just fine. I used the store brand root beer. I sprinkled a little garlic powder and salt over the pork and poked several holes in the pork before cooking. We used sweet baby rays Hickory and Brown Sugar BBQ sauce. It was just wonderful. Cooked on low for 6 hrs, then drained, then added a bit of sauce (I did not overdo it with the sauce). I then cooked for another hour in the crock pot. So easy and so good. I will use this recipe for the rest of my life.
