Mom's Coleslaw

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
Love it! Really does taste like Long John Silver's coleslaw. If you want a vinegary coleslaw don't make this one.

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
I have made this several times and have always gotten good comments from my guests on it. I have used real bacon (which can be time consuming) and I have used bacon bits store brought. Both were fine. However, I thought that with the bacon bits the day after wasn't so hot. They get a little chewy.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
I love this recipe! So easy to make and adjust to your tastes. I've done it with and without the beer, and have used different types of beer. It's good either way.

Turkey with Apple Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
I love this stuffing! I have done it every year for Christmas for the last 5 years, and everyone always raves about it. I don't stuff the bird though always make it separate. Even goes well with Tur-duck-en.

Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
Good bread, but to much cloves. I even followed a suggestion of another reviewer and only added 1tsp, but still that was to much for me. Next time will use 1/2 tsp and add vanilla extract to sweeten it up more.

Pilgrim Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
I've made this several times and each time it gets better. If you want to use store brought pastry I would suggest wrapping foil around the edges for 1/2 the baking time depending on your oven temp. variables. I used my Jack-o-lantern from Halloween carved it up and baked it in the oven face side down in an inch or so of water, and then scooped the insides. I used a Magic Bullet to blend small batches (no need to strain) and froze 2c in each bag. Some of my batches when unfrozen seemed watery so I simmered on low for 20mins or so to get the water out before mixing in the ingredients for the pie filing. Also the honey ginger cream is a nice addition. Brings out the favors in the pie.
