Baked Sweet Potatoes with Ginger and Honey

I couldn't get this to caramelize. Could've been my technique, as I'm a genuine novice to cooking from scratch. However, I may adapt the recipe and instead mash the potatoes, baking it as a casserole, perhaps with some brown sugar and crushed pecans on top. I do so love the cardamom, though.

Oyster and Cornbread Dressing

The end result looked better than it tasted. A little too fishy for my taste, and this was my first endeavor at cornbread stuffing. Didn't much like the texture, but I think that's just me.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

I don't know if I just rushed the recipe, but the end result was just too runny. I'm a fan of the French's French Fried Onions recipe, but I wanted to try something new. Too much cheese for my taste.

Cheese Fondue

I think my fondue pot was just too hot for this recipe; the end result was too thick, and the wine kept separating from the cheese. Still, it tasted fantastic. I'll be tweaking my technique in future endeavors.

Amazingly Good Eggnog

I've never been the domestic type; my first venture ever into the world of home-cooking was this year's Thanksgiving (crazy, huh?). But it turned out great with help from all the recipes on this site. Anyway, I must say I was nervous about the pasteurizing process, but this recipe turned out to be, well, truly amazing, even in the hands of a novice cook! I had to used freshly grated nutmeg instead of ground (four stores in our neighborhood were completely sold out, hehe), and I left out the rum. Simply delicious, with just the texture I was looking for. I'll continue to make this for the Holidays from now on, God willing.
