Heavenly Halibut

Reviewed: May 16, 2013
I tried this recipe as-is and it was perfect, save for the omission of hot pepper sauce to cater to my husband. yummy! Keep in mind that halibut is a subtle tasting fish and so the flavour profile of the topping is not going to be super strong either. Quite the contrary, it's got the right amount of tartness/tanginess.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Loved it. Of course, like the others substituted the ketchup, plus subbed the chili sauce. Replaced the ketchup with bbq sauce and the chili sauce with ketchup. We were all fishing in the cooker for remaining ribs because they were so fantastic! I used beef ribs.

Grilled Salmon with Curried Peach Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
Particularly in August when peaches are in season in Ontario, you feel like you're closer to nature. This is a fantastic and simple recipe that was really popular. Definitely a keeper. I used a salmon filet and broiled in the oven with the same effect.

Simple 'N' Delicious Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
Fantastic. Made these cupcakes this evening and it took all of my will power to limit myself to one. I found that in my muffin/cupcake tin, it netted 12 cupcakes rather than 10. This recipe is a keeper.

Sea Bass with Honeyed Apples

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
Looooove it! I've made this recipe several times. I find that the fish is a lot more filling. When sea bass is not available, I substitute halibut or orange roughy and it works perfectly. The only change that I make it to half the amount of apples and honey. Otherwise, I use the leftovers the following day over plain yoghurt.

Caramelized Onion and Gorgonzola Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
Incredible. I've cooked this so many times and it gets gobbled up by adults and preteens alike. Depending on availability in the grocery store, I substitute gorgonzola with another blue cheese like Roquefort with the same outstanding results.

Thai Ground Chicken Basil

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
How could something so simple and fast be so delicious. Fell in with the herd and substituted chilis with sweet chili sauce. This is now my weekday standby - takes less time than KD or heating a pizza for the boys. I serve it on rice made in the rice cooker or as an Asian lettuce wrap.

Tofu Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2007
It was the first time that I'd prepared a dish with tofu. I really loved the outcome and it was so easy to prepare! I used the PC extra firm tofu and it help up like a charm.
