Cream of Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
I made the recipe minus the croutons and it was delicious. The cinnamon and ginger add a natural sweetness and tartness to it. I even had this soup cold and it is delicious!

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
I was skeptical making meatloaf with turkey meat, but wanted a slightly healthier option. It was absolutely delicious and nice and moist! I pretty much followed the recipe exact except I shredded mozzarella cheese and since i ran out of milk i diluted some condensed milk, which gave it a little sweetness. Never thought turkey meatloaf could be so yummy! Will definitely make this for the family again!

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
Absolutely delicious! It defintiely needs salt or it is on the bland side, and I felt something else was missing too that could have given it a little more oomph! Followed the recipe exact and took some of Cook Stephanie's advice. Beware that this dish may make you and your house smell like curry for a while. Was a huge hit with the family and will definitely make it again.

Simple Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
Came out awesome. Have made these a few times already and always a hit. The only thing I changed was doubling the ingredients for the caramel apple sauce.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
I decided to use this recipe because I had gone apple picking and wanted to try apple pie. This is absolutely delicious. I tasted a piece straight out of the oven. The only thing I did different was add 1/2 tsp of apple pie spice to the syrup. and I did a closed apple pie rathe rthan lattice top. Absolutely superb!!! mmm mmm good.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2010
This made an excellent bowl of chili. I did this recipe in a slow cooker and cooking it on the stove top just doesn't compare. I did make a few minor changes. I only used 32 oz of tomato sauce to not make it so watery, I only used kidney beans and no pinto beans, and I used 2 packets of McCormick chili seasoning and added the sugar and oregano to it. I waited to add salt and pepper at the end of cooking as needed bc packets have salt and pepper in them. Will use this recipe agaiin!

Chicken Scarpariello

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
although the flavoring was great...i adjusted and added less water but substituted lemon juice to equal 1 cup. I also added sausage and red pepper. it was a soupy mess. disgusting and embarassing. i read other reviews and was prepared to make a slurry with cornstarch but i was amazed at how much i neeeded to get the right consistency. 2 stars for nice flavor but unless you want to serve chicken scarpariello soup you might want to decrease volume of liquids.

Sweet Baby Carrots

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
This recipe is delicious and very simple to make! I did not read previous suggestions to halve the glaze and the sauce was way too much. Next time will halve the glaze for sure. I also did not have brown sugar on hand so used half a cup of white sugar and a Tbsp of dark corn syrup instead. Recipe tastes delicious even with substitution. Will be making again with the brown sugar as I'm sure it'll be even better!!! Will use this as my caramelized carrot recipe from now on!!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2011
I use this recipe whenever I make sloppy joes. It is very yummy and doesn't last long on the table. If i don't have brown sugar on hand I have used regular sugar, and I like to use red pepper instead of green because of the sweeter flavor. Also if you dont have enough ketchup on hand I have substituted BBQ sauce. Definitely a great recipe to keep!

Unbelievable Spinach Calzones

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
These came out delicious. I followed the recipe exact, except for the dough. I made my own pizza dough but next time to save time I will buy the store bought dough. They were really tasty and I even ate the calzone cold for lunch and was really good. will make again!

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
This is an excellent recipe and I use it all the time. I like my sauce a little thicker so I sometimes add a cornstarch slurry to the sauce because the flour on chicken is not enough to thicken. Also if you can get a hold of real marsala wine and not the store bought one the dish will be SUPERB! Only issue I have is the butter separating from the wines. and Im constantly having to try to mix the sauce.

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
Delicious. I use this recipe all the time. I chop the onion instead of quartering it and if i have some left over pork whether bacon, pancetta, etc i saute it with the onion. I also use only half the amount of pasta because one pound is way too much.
