I love cooking and baking. I've really started to explore my talents since I got married a year and a half ago. I am fairly busy with school so I don't cook as much as I would like, but I will be having more time this summer which I am very excited about. I love to test and try things.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook varieties of rice or pasta dishes. Meat with veggies is always high on the list. I love to use garlic! I make stir fry, casseroles, grilled foods, etc. I also bake breads and cookies. If someone would provide the ingredients, I'd cook all day!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday baking is always a good tradition. Every year we would bake lots of different goodies and do secret deliveries around town. My husband and I love to make cookies and take them to our friends and visit with them (he usually makes the cookies!).
My cooking triumphs
I made the best dinner a few weeks ago. I had the chance to make a restaurant quality meal for my family, so I took it and had so much fun. It included pineapple steak (hands down the BEST steak I have ever eaten!), grilled potato skins, stuffed mushrooms, hint of mint fruit salad, and gingerbread pudding cake (made in the slow cooker!). It was an amazing meal with a variety of flavors that all came together with the help of ginger and mint.
My cooking tragedies
When I was younger, I would invariably leave out certain ingredients and it was always a mystery as to what it was. All we knew is that it wasn't right. Since I've been older, I made this casserole dish called Corn Mousaka. It is a very interesting dish and I used to like it, but when I made it, the eggs in the mix didn't cook completely and it was so disgusting that I will never even think of making it again!

Easy Pavlova
delicious and so easy! It tastes like something that you fussed over. I followed the recipe exactly and loved every bite! I even made a triple batch and I am so excited to eat more of this tomorrow!!

Peanut Butter Bars I
I did not think I needed to use a whole cup of butter, so I just did a 1/4 cup like someone else suggested. I don't ever have graham crackers, so I just decided to use wheat flour. It worked great! I just added a little cinnamon for the graham flavor. I only had milk chocolate chips, but they were way too sweet, so I added a couple T of cocoa. Anyway, they were good even though I made tons of adjustments! Thanks!
