Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

delicious!! peeling and slicing the apples was horribly tedious, but this was the first real apple pie ive ever made and it was WONDERFUL. i did add more spices for flavor. :)

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
WONDERFUL!! ive made this recipe over and over and over again. for awhile i followed it to a T, but then decided to opt for the healthier route to cut down its calories. and honest to goodness the flavor never lacked a thing! and no one ever tells. i will say that sometimes i do add 1/3 stick butter to the batter, as i LOVE more moistness. and it always turns out DELICIOUS. ive brought this to work parties, and family functions and people months later still rave about them. most often asking for the recipe! :)

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
after popping this BEAUTIFUL dish into the oven, i realized i completely forgot to put the sugary dry mix over the apples, so the dish was totally ruined and i had to mash everything together. it still came out "okay" but it looked hideous and the flavor of course was no mixed correctly. will try again asap! Two tips: 1. dont forget any ingredients. 2. add some nutmeg, but not too much. it totally overwhelmed all over flavors last time.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
KNOCKOUT recipe. so delicious. im a veg, so i left out meat (and ultimately the onions as well).. added 3 cloves of garlic to the sauce, as well as fresh basil, and dried oregano for more flavor. i used barilla canned sauces and they were OUTSTANDING with this dish. i also used a variety of cheeses, including romano. i also made sure to mix in the pasta with the sauce. my grandmother, who is the pickiest eater in the world could not stop raving about this recipe.

Apple Oatmeal Cookies II

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
i adore 'healthier' recipes and this certainly didnt sacrafice any flavor. i loved them! incredibly tasty alongside icecream, or soycream! i did make a few changes. i used earth balance butter. i added a heeeeaping cup of wwflour instead of 3/4, used unsweetened applesauce in place of an egg, nearly 1.5 tablespoons of cinnamon, a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, and two teaspoons of allspice. believe me, i'm glad i did. i also used 4 stevia packets alongside the honey, and a PINCH of brown sugar. i only had applecrisp apples on hand so i used one of those. i used about two heaping spoonfulls of cookiedough per cookie, and the cooking time took about 4 minutes longer. delicious, not too sweet, and came out with the perfect consistency!!

yum yum yum!!! made this exactly as the recipe said and served it with toasted french bread. took this to a superbowl party and everyone RAVED. so delicious. the flavors together are perfect! however, next time, i would serve it with something other than bread. just didn't cut it for me.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
chocolate heaven. so delicious. i did make my own whipped cream to replace cool whip, and sprinkled heath bar over any cool whip layer and drizzled caramel on top. without the heath, or the caramel, it would've been way too 'meh'..but WITH those ingredients, it was pefect! people went back for FOURTHS!

Sugar-Free Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
i cant have straight up milk so i attempted to use soy and it was like soup after it was all over. theres no way i could use this for frosting, ever. it did, however, taste yummy and i dipped chocolate graham crackers in it. so i'll give it 4 stars despite the soupy mess i have left.

Pumpkin Parfait

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
it was good. not great. swapped out the milk for soy, perhaps that was its blunder. also had to add a whoooole bunch more spice for taste. at least 2-3 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice, as well as 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and a little bit of nutmeg. overall pretty good, and you can't beat it being so low calorie, which is what i was after. better alternative than chocolate cake! :)

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
EW! i printed this recipe off for my mom to make. she is an AMAZING fudge maker and uses one of her favorite recipes every year. i gave her this recipe to try somethign different, she made it, and it turned out very poorly she patiently stood over the saucepan stirring, and even used a candy thermometer, and this fudge came out DRY DRY DRY DRY DRY. i can shake the pan in the fridge and stuff is actually crumbling around! i tasted a bite and it was so overly bittersweet that it sapped the life out of the milk chocolate. she followed the recipe to a t. obviously something went terribly wrong!
