This is the recipe that the kids like the best. It's a very reliable recipe. I usually double this recipe to make a big batch.

Cowboy Stew I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
I changed a few things around in this recipe so that I could use what I had on hand. I doubled this recipe and substituted 1 can or Rotel for the second can of tomato sauce and the diced green chilis. I also added canned chili without beans because this is what I had. I also added 1 small can of tomato paste and 2 T sugar. This turned out great with ingredients that I had on hand.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
These turned out great. I doubled this recipe and put the dough in a Pampered Chef Large Bar Pan (this is made of stone). I baked it for 35 minutes and it was perfectly golden brown. I substituted chocolate chips for the raisins. I think you could substitute just about any dried fruit as long as its cut up.

Velveeta® Cheeseburger Mac

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
This is easy to make and tastes good. What's better is it's made with common pantry staples and kids like it.

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
This lasagna is wonderful and so easy to make. Everything fit perfectly in the pan. It cut nicely and tasted like heaven and I had all the ingredients in my pantry. I did use an extra half pound of ground beef because I like a little more meat in my lasagna. This recipe won't disappoint.

My Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
This recipe is good to start with, but I add a few things to make it even better. Try adding a small can of tomato paste and 2 T sugar. I also use 1/2 tsp of garlic powder in place of the fresh garlic because I don't normally have fresh garlic in the house. This chili also has the right amount of beans. Most chili recipes have too many so if you don't like a lot of beans in your chili, then this recipe is for you.

Potato Soup with a Kick

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2008
This is good soup. It does have a little bit of a kick, but if you're used to spicy foods then you're probably going to want to add more hot sauce so you can really feel the heat. I like that fact that this recipe uses common ingredients that are in nearly everyone's pantry.

Best-Ever Chocolate Cake

This cake is tasty. I would recommend having it as a summer dessert because it's stored in the fridge.

Corn Cheese Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
Very tasty and what I really like is that this recipe used ingredients that I already had on hand. It didn't last long. My son ate all of it in less than 24 hours. This recipe is a keeper.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
This is a 5 star recipe, but only if you reduce the cooking time. I'm so glad that I checked on the cake before an hour was up because after 45 minutes the bottom was a little darker than it should have been. I think that a more accurate cooking time would be about 35-40 minutes. It tastes great, but watch the cooking time for the best results.

Chocolate Picnic Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
I don't know why reviews for this cake are mixed because this cake is really good. When I make it, I don't use baking chocolate because it isn't something that I ususally have on hand so I use 6 T cocoa and 2 T vegetable oil to substitute for the baking chocolate and it always turns out perfect. This is definitely a chocolate lovers cake.

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
Wonderful flavor. This is much better than your standard yellow cake recipe that uses all-purpose flour. The cake flour and real butter makes a difference in this recipe so don't skimp, use the exact ingredients that are listed.

Buttery Corn Bread

This is the only recipe that I use for cornbread. If you like sweet cornbread mixes then try this recipe. It's better than a packaged mix.

No Beans About It - Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
I Love It! I substituted diced and whole tomatoes for the crushed tomatoes and mashed them with a potato masher and used 1/4 tsp of garlic powder instead of fresh garlic and it turned out great with ingredients that I had on hand. This recipe is one that I'll use again.
