Potato Pancakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2013
I loved them! Definitely squeeze or press the excess moisture from the shredded potatoes or the mix will be too watery and you'll have to compensate with extra flour, which makes doughy. I also added some shredded cheese and served them with a fried egg on top (at this point, healthy has gone out the window). They were delicious.

Tomato Green Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2011
This was really good - I added a few diced red potatoes and let the soup simmer for an hour instead of 20 mins - it was very flavorful (and pretty!)

Raspberry Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
This is exactly what I was looking for - simple, tasty, and it only took a few minutes to make. I served it on a spring mix salad with sliced strawberries, mandarins, pecans and feta cheese - yummy!

Easy Tilapia with Wine and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
Even though this wasn't my kind of dish (I'm not a big tomato sauce fan) I gave it five stars because my husband absolutely loved it. He said it actually tasted a lot like a dish that he orders at the Olive Garden. It was very easy to make - 5 minutes of prep time; I pretty much just did my own thing while it cooked, which only took about 20 minutes. I'll be adding this one to our repertoire!

Herbed Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
Wow - this was great! I was craving a cream soup and was out of chicken broth, which almost all the other recipes seem to require. I was doubtful that this would have flavor without a broth and ended up being pleasantly surprised. Took 20 minutes to make and tasted great - will definitely do this one again!

'Out of Salad Dressing' Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2010
I thought this recipe was great - we didn't have fresh parmesan so I had to use pregrated and mix it with the dressing in a blender - next time I'll use freshly grated, I'm sure it will be even better.

Gramma's Cream of Broccoli

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
This recipe was suprisingly good! I didn't try this for the longest time because it seemed too simple and basic to be any good. I added some finely grated parmesan cheese to it at the end - other then than I followed the recipe exactly as written. Oh, but if you are cooking for more than one or two people I would definately double or even triple the recipe - does not make very much.

Roasted Garlic Potato Soup with Smoked Salmon

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
This recipe was delicious! The longer the soup simmers the more it will take on the smoked salmon flavor - great for cold and rainy days!

The World's Best Turkey

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
I had never cooked a turkey in my life and chose this recipe for last Thanksgiving. It was delicious! Very very juicy and flavorful. For Christmas I tried a different recipe and regretted it after the first bit. This holiday season, I will definitely be using this recipe again.

Honey Vanilla Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
I thought this recipe was excellent. I made just a few changes, which was to cut back on the cream by one cup and replace it with whole milk (cut back on some of the fat.) Just before adding everything to the ice cream maker I whipped it with an electric mixer to "fluff" it up. I also cut back on the sugar by a little more than 1/4 cup but increased the honey by 2-3 tablespoons (I love honey.) The result was a very creamy - and honey tasting - ice cream. Topped with some granola it made a great treat. I will make this one again and again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
Omigod this pie is delicious, and I don't even really like pie all that much! I did mix some cinnamon in with the apples for a little kick, but the recipe would have still been wonderful. I now use this recipe to impress my family and fool them into thinking I'm some sort of Betty Crocker. Definitely a keeper!

Outrageous Caesar Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
This recipe was very good, although you may want to use less lemon than suggested, or taste as you go since mine came out a little too lemony. I also added very very finely fresh grated parmesan cheese to the dressing and used and electric mixer to blend it in; this added a little extra flavor and thickened it a bit, for those who like thicker dressings. Overall it was a pretty good recipe and definitely one I will use again.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
I had never made stew before and thought I would give this recipe a try -- it was wonderful! I did, however, take a few suggestions offered on other reviews. I used Better than Buillon instead of buillon cubes, used one cup of red cooking wine in place of a cup of water, added some fresh garlic and upped the cornstarch to make a thicker broth. This is a recipe I will use again and again. :)
