Spotted Dog Irish Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2015
Delicious and very easy to make. I used half the amount of sugar called for in the recipe and it still has a nice sweetness and very good texture. It browned quickly so I tented it with foil about half way through the baking time. I'll definitely make this one again. Thank you, Joshua, for sharing your family recipe!

Delicious! I used my small cookie scoop and the recipe made 84 cookies.

Grama's Peppery Parsnips

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
This is the only way my mom fixed parsnips when I was growing up. Browning in butter caramelizes the natural sugars in the parsnips. Loved them then; love them now!

Dijon-Tarragon Cream Chicken - Customized

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
Excellent! Loved the idea of adding mushrooms so I used this customized version instead of the original. I followed the directions exactly and the results were perfect. Definitely something I'll make again!

Baked Scallops

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2004
We really enjoyed this dish! I took the suggestion of another reviewer and combined the minced garlic with the melted butter, then tossed the scallops with the butter as I added them to the dish. A 2-lb bag of frozen sea scallops from Costco fit an 8x11 casserole perfectly and were done in about 25 minutes.

Baked Chicken with Peaches

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2003
It wasn't a total failure for me, but I don't think I'll make this again. The peaches were good, but the chicken didn't have much flavor at all.

Cucumber Sunomono

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2003
Not bad, but not very special. I expected more pizazz from the ginger, but the salad was fairly bland. Doubt I'll make it again.

I followed the recipe exactly and let the pork marinate overnight. It turned out very tender and juicy....we loved it and I'll make it again!

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2003
I've made these five times so far this summer, and they're always a hit. Even the picky eater in the family loves them! I spray a foil cooking bag with oil, turn them every 5-10 minutes, and haven't had them stick yet. Most often I've used Yukon gold potatoes and Vidalia onions.

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2003
Wonderful! The only change I made was to use a dash of hot pepper sauce instead of the red pepper flakes. Definitely a "keeper"!

I originally found this recipe on a package of portabello mushrooms and have prepared it several times. We love it!

Baked Sweet Potatoes with Raisins and Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2002
Very easy and tasty. I baked at 325 for about an hour and a half so I could bake a ham at the same time.

Finnish Pulla

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2002
My entire family loved this! It's not overly sweet and has a wonderful texture. The only change I made was to bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes (as in the nearly identical recipe for Finnish Nissua). The loaves turned out golden brown and perfect. I'll be making it again for sure!

This was OK, but I don't think I'll make it again. I thought it was way too salty.
