Tuna Noodle Casserole III

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
Great and simple. I did make a few changes after reading reviews. I went with 1/3 cup sour cream and milk. I used 2 packages of tuna, instead of can. Cooked noodles. While that was cooking, I mixed tuna, milk, sour cream and cream of chix (my family won't eat mushrooms) put in microwave 3 mins. Once noodles were cooked, I put them in a square casserole dish, then butter cubes, tuna mixture, and american cheese. I did that until it was all used. For the topping, I did shedded cheese, and a bit of parmesan cheese then flavored bread crumbs. For the side I used broccoli cauliflower mix, with cornbread.I think it might be good with peas or just broccoli. I have been changing from box mixes they don't have enough for our family, unless I buy 2 boxes. Since making homemade dishes my children seem to eat more and less junk food. I will suggest this to others, it's a great dish for cold and busy nights, clean up was a snap!!

Two Ingredient Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
I would like to comment on what I learned and did with the recipe. Pumpkin can be added to anything to substitute for other ingredients in cake. Pumpkin itself has no taste. Pumpkin adds no flavor if using pure pumpkin only not pumpkin pie mix! I had only added a little of water to can of pumpkin to help get all of the pumpkin out of can. It is very important to use all pumpkin, if not the batter will be very hard to work with. I had no problem mixing it. I only used a spatula to mix it. I decided to use a silicone bunt pan. I used to spatula to drop it in the pan then, I took the bunt pan and picked it up and hit the pan to counter a few times to even out the batter. The batter looked very even then. I will post pictures after done baking. I plan on using canned chocolate icing. I took out all the the nutritional value though. (lol)

Cincinnati Skyline Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
If you are looking for a true"skyline chili" I will give a few hints that I remember as a child. I worked for Skyline in my teen yrs. I know that they boil meat not fry and also you must add cinnamon and baking unsweetened cocoa. If I remember right there were about 16 different things we added in all. I do know cocoa and cinnamon is a must have. I lived in cincy most of my life. Anyone from that area knows you always add cocoa and cinnamon. I hope this is help for for those of you looking for a true Skyline chili.

Skillet Apple Brownie

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2013
I decided to make a few changes after reading reviews. I followed recipe except I only use 1/4 teaspoon of apple pie spice and use 1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon. I added about 1 1/2 -2 tablespoons of butter to iron skillet. My family doesn't like nuts in food so i left out. I edges were nice a crispy with buttery flavor...much like a "blonde" the center was soft like a brownie. They are over 1/2 of my cast iron skillet that night. Ill make again. Im thinking of adding a caramel drizzle next time and serve with a nice vanilla bean ice cream.. Like, Applebees apple pie. Family, is asking for this again tonight! I tried adding photos but, the site kept saying...this isnt a image.. Ill try again later..thus its a keeper!!!
